We discovered Pietrasanta by accident on the first night of a friends reunion trip to NYC. What a pleasant accident it was. The restaurant has a warm atmosphere and glow about it and the waiting staff continued that ambience. It felt like you were at home in Italy. The owner at some point in the evening made the rounds to ensure that everyone was happily full and fully sated. The three of us were stuffed - we could not get enough of the delicious things that came to our table. The salad appetizers were delectable and we each had different dishes as the choices were hard to make and this way we could try some of a number of dishes. Everything we ate that evening was sublime. The pasta just the perfect al dente, the salads had the right hint of vinaigrette and the chicken dish was succulent. All in a very unassuming place. We enjoyed it so much we went back once more on our four day visit. Perfecto!

This is an unassuming little place, with charm and solid food. Diverse and varied menu, but limited wine choices. Just slightly off the theater area, but worth the effort. Great value, nice service. Go, try, enjoy!

I've been to this restaurant many times over the past 12 or so years. The food, service and atmosphere have always been good, and the location is very convenient. Last week I went with a party of 8 to celebrate a birthday and had an especially good experience. The food was excellent, and the service was also excellent! Our party had a wonderful time. Pietrasanta will continue to be my place to go in this neighborhood.

On recommendation of others went here for pre-show meal. The dining areas is rather small so make reservations. The owner greeted us and made sure we were provided with all our needs during the meal. The other staff was very efficient. The prices were very reasonable and wine selection, although limited, was excellent.

If you want an Italian restaurant that is convenient to Broadway theaters at a reasonable price this is the place to go. The service is caring. It is a small room so make a reservation. Wines by the glass are $8.00. This is not fine dining but you are not rushed. The minnestrone soup was filled with vegetables. The mussels were tasty but small. They were in a wine sauce that was a touch spicey but good for sopping up with bread. The house salad with added shrimp had many greens and the shrimp were large. Another salad had walnuts and a large ball of goat cheese covered with pistachio nuts. Very good and large enough to share. The bill for these 4 appetizers (we did not have either a main course or dessert) and one glass of wine but not including tip was $50.00. For the west side of Manhattan, this is a bargain. Be advised that veal parmigiano is not available although chicken parm is.
