Description: Churrascaria Plataforma is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served. Winner of Three Consecutive NYC Health Dept "Golden Apple Award".

Our friends had such a great experience a while back that we all decided to come here for a joint birthday celebration . The food was fantastic and I really loved the salad bar! But be careful not to fill up on the salad because the meats are the star of the place. The service was friendly and attentive and even the desserts were delicious. We will definitely go back!

Churrascaria Plataforma Is the best Brazilian steak house this side of Rio!
I have been to Rio and eaten in Churrascaria's there and this one in NYC is as good as the best there. The meat is high quality and the endless variety never stops coming. The lunch is a much better buy than diner at about $20 less with almost the same offerings.

We went here for a birthday dinner of 12 guests. The reservation was handled over the phone with no trouble. I told the staff it was a surprise and asked the guests to be seated before the birthday boy arrived. They were accommodating and professional. Everything went as planned. We had a great table arranged for us near the salad bar. The food was great! Everything from the salad bar, with assorted fresh fishes, and the meats were fresh and cooked to perfection. The Brazilian drink, Caipirinha, is made fresh at the table. All delicious! The service is very good. The place is quite pricey and you cannot take home leftovers so be prepared to open your wallet. We spent about $120 pp, gratuity and about 2 drinks each included. They do validate your parking voucher if you park at Icon across the street, which saves close to $20 for parking. No complaints from us, though we would save a second trip for another special occasion.

Having eaten in a number of Churrascarias in the past, we had to try this when we found it was connected to the hotel we were staying at. If you are at the Belvedere hotel, please note that this is to the rear of the hotel with the entrance on 49th street and not the Brazilian grill on the corner of 48th and 8th Av. When you first enter you are politely led to a table and the whole process explained. This is an 'all you can eat' Brazilian Rodizio in which you select your starter from the buffet table before moving on to the main course. You can pick from a selection of side dishes which includes black beans, fried bananas, fries, mashed potatoes, etc.. All served in individual sized portion and pretty much unlimited. The meats served are of very good quality and served at a very good frequency. If there is something particular you like, just request it and they'll go and get it. In fact, they'll keep coming round and ask if there is anything special you want. Added to the food is a trolley pushing barman who makes the best 'Caipirinha' ever tasted. To top it all off is a very impressive looking dessert trolley that, after the huge ingestion of meat, was a bit redundant, especially on our table. The only reason I have rated this as 4stars is the slight lack of atmosphere in the restaurant. The waiters are very polite but there is a level of formality that is not often seen in a Churrascaria. This may be to your own preference but I prefer a slightly more relaxed atmosphere when I am trying to digest a full sized cow. Note: Not suitable for Vegetarians!!

This is an "all you can eat" restaurant , specialized in meat cuts, all sort of them. First you can start with a extensive salad bar - be aware that if you are there for the meat, you better take it slowly with the salads. Then you can start asking for the main course. My recommendation is that overall you should try the "PICANHA" this is a very traditional brazilian cut with reach and excellent flavor then have a CAIPIRINHA" a nice brazilian lemon based alcoholic drink and finally ask for a PAPAYA CREAM , a delicious dessert that actually uses PAPAYA, which will help you digest better the heavy meal. Ask any waiter for these three things and they will help you.
I have been there several times and found some specialities like the palmito , very small and not fresh enough. Additionally I found it very expensive , even for NYC standards. My wife and I had a nice meal, basically having all the thing that I mention here for $220 USD.
The other thing that I didn't like this time, was the service, never the less we have a reservation I felt that everyone was rushing the service to take us out of there ASAP.
