Virgil's is a great place to have lunch before attending a Broadway matinee. The service is good , the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious....AND it's close to all the theaters. If you love grits, try Virgil's Cheesy Grits side dish...yummy!!!

Excellent meal but too large sized plates for a foreigner...

Its situation very close to Times Square gives to the BBQ a real advantage to any all others

tips : try the 4 meats plate but eat very slooooowly

Loved the train wreck fries and could have made an entire meal out of them! Instead we ended up splitting a delicious pork BBQ sandwich for our entree. The service was good, despite it being a very busy restaurant!

The food was incredible!
On the first visit we had the mixed platter of pulled pork, dry rub ribs and bbq brisket with a side of fries and macaroni cheese. On the second visit we had another mixed platter with pulled chicken, pulled pork, bbq brisket with the above sides and a portion of tramp ribs. The second occasion was my partners birthday so we pushed the boat out with the extra ribs. The portions are extremely generous and very reasonably priced.
The staff were excellent, happy to explain what each dish was and providing great recommendations! Bring Virgil's to London!

We spent a week in New York and Virgil's delivered the best meal of our stay. We first visited on 27 September for lunch. Service from Mitchell was quick, professional and friendly. We went for the combos to try a bit of everything and they did not disappoint. The subtle wood-smoked ribs were the best flavoured we have tasted IN THE WORLD! The pulled pork and pulled chicken were also to die for, though I couldn't finish mine I was so full. It wasn't the cheapest meal we had in NYC at $35 per head inc. tax + tips, but it was the best value-for-money. In fact it was so good we went back for supper two days later and were not disappointed. This time we were served well by Roberto. We had learned from the first trip not to order so much and this time we cleaned our plates and still felt full for just $25.50 per head all in. Definitely the foodie find of our trip.
