Description: Home style cooking at its best is our mantra. Our restaurant is located in the busy streets of Tribecca but one step inside instantly transports you to a quaint country diner in the heart of the New England country side. The pink polka dot wainscoting and tin ceilings along with our funky homemade tables made from salvaged doors adds to the cottage feel. You are met at the door with our abundantly filled pastry cases. The shelves are filled with our homemade layer cakes, flaky pies, iced cupcakes, fruit crisps, and so much more to tempt you on your way to a table. Kitchenette can satisfy all your cravings whether it be an oasis from the cold with our own hot chocolate topped with a homemade marshmallow, or a steamy bowl of chicken soup or a hearty meal of turkey meatloaf and mashed potatoes. We are a home away from home. Come visit us for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Brunch or an afternoon slice of cake and coffee. Hope to see you in our restaurant. Lisa and Ann

“Breakfast should always be this fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

This place was a tight squeeze but so much fun. The waiters were a riot and the food was incredible! Go go Lumber Jane! They have display case of all their goodies when you walk in, you may want to look the other way. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I was lucky to get out of there with only two extra items!

We found this place the day after Valentine's Day. My boyfriend and I had eaten at a very overrated and expensive place and were so sad to see this place was offering a Valentine's Day special.. Chocolate covered strawberry waffles and many other delightful items! If only a day earlier.. We would have been very happy with this place. They offered a discount for paying with cash and do take reservations. I will most certainly list this of my favorite places to eat in NY.

“Superb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I went there last night for valentines. I had to write this review as soon as I could as the food, service and just everything about the place is great....looks like grandmas house with its polka dots. We had a couple of waiters who were just fantastic...the owner/manager who greeted us as we entered and said goodbye when we left was perfect and not overbearing. A great place with a young vibrant atmosphere....people of all ages will feel at home here. We are in NYC until Monday and really want to go back....The kitchenette 156 chambers street....metro 1,2,3, chambers street metro. Enjoy :)

“Nice for breakfast, but...”

Kitchenette is nice for breakfast, but it's nothing special. Service is also erratic, but it probably depends on which server you get.

“Yum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

This is such a lovely little restaurant. The decor is cozy, the service is wonderful and the food was great. Everyone in the restaurant was friendly and relaxed and the food is simple but definitely delicious and pretty well-priced. We had a breakfast platter (Lumberjack) and the Fried chicken. Both were delish. Also tried a milkshake which was yum. Definitely worth a stop!
