“Just OK”

My daughter & I went here after our "Downtown Walking" tour on the recommendation of our tour guide. We were a little skeptical since it is more in Chinatown than Little Italy. We were seated right away & served our drinks. We both got soup & salad since this was a late lunch. Salad was good, but soup just ok. Definitely an older establishment, but well known. Jim Burr (college basketball ref) was sitting at the next table. I probably would go again just to give it another shot since it comes highly recommended from the locals.

“worth searching out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2012

This resto is not on Grand Street or Mulberry Street with most of the other Little Italy restaurants. When I hear 'Baxter Street,' I think Chinatown, but place had some good reviews, so we made trip from our mid-town hotel. Very nice. Food was good. Portions were fine. Prices were decent. When we arrived, early on a Thursday evening, we were to only customers. Later on, we saw a NYC television reporter we recognized in conversation with someone who looked like a lawyer or judge. This was not surprising as resto is close to courts. I imagine they have a large lunch crowd. We would certainly eat here again when next in this part of NYC.

“never disappoints.”

we make a point of going whenever we are in town. Food is tasty and moderately priced for most pocketbooks. It feels like a scene out of the Sopranos as you sit and listen to the people around you (due accents not actual conversations) :-)

“Old School NYC Italian Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2012

We've been going to this place for about 6 years now on the recommendation of a friend's father who grew up nearby. It's funny as this is moreso located in Chinatown, but here's this amazing place that has been around for quite some time. It feels like an old school Italian place, has an extensive menu, and the food does not disappoint. It's just delicious. Period. You won't be disappointed.

“Such a hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2012 via mobile

We walked past during the night accidentally and went back that night. Not disappointed at all it was fantastic. I had the Ziti and whilst being the first experience I thought it was great! My husband had the dual veal and chicken parmigiana. And he loved it. Very atmospheric. Thank you.
