Come here once for the ludicrous Christmas decor, but you won't feel a need to return. The heat is cranked up way too high to be comfy, the staff is surly, except for the friendly bouncer, the drinks are ridiculously overpriced, and the wait is uncessary. The beer, for a German restaurant is pretty poor I'm selection. The gluhwein (mulled, spiced wine) was pretty good but a single glass and a beer cost $30. The wait for the bar on a Sat was 30 min and another hour for a table. Even still, it was way too crowded. The ambiance is like you are inside a Christmas tree and makes the visit worth it, but probably only once.

Very good food. A bit pricey which i was slightly surprised about. The waiter kinda hustled us out since it was later in the night. Oh well. I enjoyed it and the atmosphere is very neat with the lights and decorations.

This is a family type restaurant in the Gramercy Park section of Manhattan. We went with friends to celebrate the new year after making reservations. The decor is outstanding with plentiful christmas lights and decor, you almost need sunglasses. The feeling is warm and cozy, since the seats are small and you are forced to sit very close to each other. We liked the potato pancakes and the apple strudel was excellent, large, warm and yummy with lots of raisins and nuts; however the main course the schnitzels were tasteless, although my husband ordered the veal (spaetzel) and he liked it. Drinks were good but pricey. They charge 13$ for a beer and/or wine.

Rushed, chaotic service. Went with friends and they rushed us all throughout the dinner. On top of it they charge you 20% service change for "large" parties (5 people).

Good for drinks to see the decor, there are many other good restaurants on the area.

This was a great time during the Christmas season. Very festive which is what we loved. However after eating and drinking our fill we felt quite rushed. The waiter kept checking on us, to a point of frustration. Try it once then you're done. Or perhaps go for a beer during the holidays, just to enjoy the lights.
