“Two thumbs up”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

The pastrami was up there with the best but the bread really lacked. Had to eat the sandwich with a fork.
The latkes on the other hand are awesome as were the pickles and the grilled cheese.
The service was extremely friendly and low key. Prices reasonable.

“BLT on wheat toast, please.”

Need I say more? Oh, try the Egg Cream. Great, classic local favorite across from the Flatiron Building. Lime Rickey's too!

“More New York than Empire State”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 via mobile

We were lucky to find this place, we were staying round the corner and our friend told us about it.

Old school, super sandwiches and other dishes. The service is relaxed, not forced and very friendly. The kids just loved sitting at the bar watching the chefs cooking away.

Ignore the pastrami and egg roll at your peril!!!

This place is the icing on the cake for my NYC trip - thank you!

“felt like real New York”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

We are a family of 5 (with 3 teenage boys)and we visited in mid December very early one cold morning on our trip to New York.

The whole experience was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee refills just kept coming. Great way to start a day of sightseeing.

“Authentic NY”
Reviewed January 20, 2014 via mobile

Real deal NY deli. Went for lunch with kids while in the neighborhood for an event. Sat in the back at a table but would love to sit at counter next time when we have fewer diners (we were 6). Nothing fancy, just simple which suits all of us fine! Fabulous home made pickles to start. Kids loved the enormous shakes. Perfectly cooked fries, burger and tuna melt. Food was served as it was cooked so we did not all get our items at the same time which was ok for us. Loved the Leo omelet. Tons of lox and onions. Very friendly server. Reasonably priced particularly for Manhattan lunch. Love that it's a mainstay of NYC and has been in business since 1929. Will go back!
