This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. My husband and I first went a year ago for our anniversary and loved it so much that we returned for our second anniversary. Everything is flawless from food to service to ambiance. We ordered 2 apps: (1) scallops and (2) veal meatball pasta - the pasta is seriously out of this world - you must order it as an app or entree - MUST! I had the sea-bass for my entree which was prepared to perfection - it was fresh and delicious. We were a bit full at the end so opted to share ice cream which was again amazing. They knew it was our anniversary and brought out a cake for us which was such a nice gesture. Our waitress was so friendly (but not annoyingly overly friendly - just perfect) and knowledgable about the menu and the wine list. The wine list is great, and you can't go wrong with one of their amazing cocktails either.
We will most likely go back again for our next anniversary. If you haven't been yet, you are definitely missing out! If you are going for dinner, call a month in advance to make a reservation.

We dropped in for lunch, luckily a bit before the crowds. The restaurant has a solid organic foundation, and served delicious and imaginative food. The interior decoration was original and light. abc attracted all kinds of people from the stock exchange gurus to the vegans, young and old. If you like your lunch place to buzz with activity, go there.

While reservations are highly recommended you can always eat at the bar. Fantastic food from the duck the the lamb. Make room for dessert though. Eclectic options of drinks made by the bartender and they are more then willy to experiment for you. Such a fun restaurant for young professionals. Dress to impress but again this is New York, you know that!

We had to choose between the great shopping at ABC or having lunch - and lunch won out!
Randy had the BEST ever turkey sandwich, followed by their Chocolate Sundae ala Cracker Jack's - we shared it three ways and it was more than enough. A great setting with lots of well thought out details and an especially good Bloody Mary!

we visited ABC based on a Time Out recommendation, late lunchtime towards the end of August. No reservation, so it seems we were pretty lucky to get a table. It's within a huge (and very expensive) furniture/homeware store, but don't let that put you off as the restaurant feels completely separate (though the advantage is that you'll be sure of a very comfortable seat!)

The food is amazing - really fresh, carefully prepared, great flavours - apparently they grow some veg/salads on the roof, and the rest is a result of a careful sourcing policy aiming for locally produced seasonal ingredients where possible. Portion sizes not too small, and it all comes on custom-made warmed earthenware plates which seem to retain the heat really well (and are rather beautiful too)

Service was (as nearly everywhere in New York) immaculate, and the room itself is really interesting too. Lots of pale reclaimed wood it all looks rather stunning.

Wine list fairly short and well chosen, we were allowed a taste before committing which was a nice touch.

Have eaten in a fair few places over the years, this is in my Top 5 and somewhere I would definitely return should I ever make it to New York again.
