Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

We were lucky to get a table here as we'd left booking too late and were prepared to turn up and wait. After about 30 minutes we were seated in bar area. We were offered a table in the restaurant but were up for a more relaxed evening. Whilst we waited we took advantage of trying out the cocktails and people watching (however we had to stand for this duration due to no seating, but this is understandable).

The food was fabulous. We had the oysters to start and had a fish and meat dish for our mains. The wine list was extensive and great value for money. The best thing we took away from the whole experience was the atmosphere. It's relaxed but at the same time the standard and service is impeccable. Should we return to NYC we'd go back there in a shot, over and above some of the Michelin starred restaurants we visited whilst there.

This is a well established NYC restaurant where you can expect truly gourmet food in an elegant setting. This is a place we often come to celebrate special occasions. The menu changes often but whatever fish is offered is always fresh and prepared in a special way. The meats are always tasty and cooked to perfection as well. This place is sure to satisfy anyone's palate.

It has been sometime since we visited New York City and we wanted to eat at one of our favorite restaurants Gramercy Tavern. We were not disappointed. Once again we had a fabulous tasting menu with wine pairings suggested by the waiter. The food was fabulously prepared and an interesting combination. The wines that the waiter suggested were unique paired well with the meal. This is truly one of the best places for a great meal anywhere.

We were referred by a friend to Gramercy Tavern. He was insistent that we eat in the dining room and not in the Tavern. Time did not allow for this so we went with the Tavern menu and just had appetizers. I had the Fluke Tartarre and the pate and both were absolutely delicious! The bartenders were courteous, professional and knowledgeable of the menu. We will be back.

Went at lunchtime; very busy but then again it was not as big as I thought it would be. We were in the Tavern.
