Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

“Good but rich”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We ate in the Tavern part (vs the dining room) and the food was creative and rich. The server was excellent!! She was able to give us an excellent suggestion on the cider and it was fantastic! Would recommend a trip there if you are in NYC. I am not sure I could go there too often since the food is so rich. Enjoy!

“Great Christmas Bar”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Visited in December the whole place is so beautifully dressed it felt so festive. Initially told an hour plus wait for table which turned about to be thirty mins so be patient and enjoy a drink by the bar. Good food and drinks, service good not great perhaps due to packed nature of the evening.

So pleased we visited.

“Stalwart staple - yet original and good.”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Lunch on Dec 30th. Service was very good, though the waiter seemed like he didn't know any of the wines except those by the glass. The salad with kale and brussel sprouts was flavorful without being chewy. The smoked arctic char with hazelnuts was rich and deep for a fish entree. The presentation (covered with chopped hazelnuts) was slightly distracting. ("Hey, look! There's some fish under there!") But with the parsnips it was delicious.

“Great People Place”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

I’ve eaten here several times and the food and atmosphere are spot-on. Be warned however that this place is packed from the moment it opens until the doors close, so you’d be well advised to get there early.

The best way to describe the Gramercy Park Tavern is that it’s the type of place that you’d want to hang out in with great friends for hours on end.
