This coffee shop, close to the Frick Museum, is in bad need of a major overhaul. The place is dingy, the floors are ancient and has seen better days and the tables are rickety: you could not eat without spilling your coffee. The bathrooms, although clean, need major work. After sitting down, we realized we have been to this diner many years ago before visiting the museum. There has been absolutely no upgrade noticeable from then.We had the breakfast (eggs). They were O.K. but nothing special. The service was average. There are many better delis and coffee shops in New York.

Really nothing special. Sit at the counter or a booth. Your basic diner type menu. Normal portions prepared well. 7 layer cake was a tasty treat.

Coffee shops in NY are a tradition but, sadly, there are fewer and fewer of them, supplanted by the ubiquitous Starbucks (yuck). The coffee at NY coffee shops is never what they've been about -it's about being able to get breakfast at all times of the day, a great sandwich and perhaps a piece of cheesecake. I'm of the view that if you're on a business trip and time is of the essence, eating breakfast at the hotel is okay - otherwise, a complete rip-off. Visitors to hotels should find the nearest coffee shop (also known as a "diner") and head there.

Lovely wait staff, great prices, amazing WRAPS and traditional coffee. Not amazing inside but it oozes New York city and is a warm and friendly place to retreat!
