Easily recognizable facade in beautiful lacquer red and
yellow awning with a few always busy cafe outdoors
tables to see the world go by...it could be anywhere
in France !.
Well located, very attractive decor and excellent food.
The interior is rather small, crowded with smallish tables close
to each other making it hard for a romantic or business
Beautifully decorated just like a Parisian restaurant
or a brasserie but with more panache and style.
Lighting is great, colors are tranquil and sedated and
the staff super attentive, polite and friendly always willing
and ready to help but staying away to give you privacy.
The food is exquisite, perfectly cooked and seasoned with
rather large portions but so good you'll wish they gave you more.
The style is authentic French with a twist of modern execution to it,
but not overwhelmingly different from the well known French fare.
The specials are great,as good or better than the set menu and
they show a lot of effort and inventiveness in the preparation
and presentation.
A great assortment of wines are excellent and well priced.
Desserts make the dinner a perfect occasion
and a good excuse to return often.
Highly recommended for any occasion.

If you are looking for a little bit of Paris in NYC, try Quatorze. The food is wonderful, the service is first class, the cost is reasonable, and it is the kind of charming, small, bistro that fits as easily in Saint Germain des Pres as on the upper east side. No wonder we locals would prefer to preserve it as a well-kept secret. Shh ... don't tell anyone else. But, Francophiles ... don't miss it.

Attractive French Restaurant with excellent food. Feels like you're in a real French bistro, with both their regular menu, and the daily specials.
Wonderful appetizers including their saucisson chaud, celeri remoulade, and seasonal entrees including the best Cassoulet we've had in NYC. The pommes frites are especially good, and
there are reasonably-priced wines, too.

A local favorite, we have the found the food to be very good. Been there several times always accompanied by folks who have eaten there perhaps 30 times. They are even choosier than ,I so I know its consistent. My wife said it's the only place she would eat liver. Very tasty. My Beef Bourg. was very good. Their onion soup was a bit salty, often a failing in restaurant that have it on the menu. Their alcohol drinks were a little light. Good ambiance, with noise levels about average for this kind of NYC restaurant. Not a young peoples place, just a good place for bistro food. Make certain your credit card is not near it's limit.

The place is very pretty - nice upscale bistro. Menu is basic French fare, but tasty. I ordered a skirt steak from the specials - medium rare - done very well. My wife had the roasted half chicken which was very juicy. The only downside is that everything is served with pommes frites and they don't say that on the menu (wife doesn't eat fries). The fries were good but I would've preferred rice or a potato.

The prices are reasonable for a nice UES restaurant. We got there early in the dinner service and it was pretty quiet but got to a nice hum quickly. The waitstaff was pretty attentive and patient with our change requests.
