Bustling place - somewhat loud, but not annoying. Very NYC. There's a wood fired brick oven for pizza and grilled meats - the smell is great and not overwhelming.

They serve fried olives (their trademark) with focaccia bread and breadsticks - excellent.

For appies - try the grilled octopus - outstanding. Ceaer salad was bland. For entrees, the grilled veal chop was tender & perfectly cooked. Four of us had bronzino with brocoli rabe - super fresh, moist - delicious. Our table of 6 drank 3 bottles of wine and the host gave us a (free) desert plate to share - fantastic. Sherbert was great, tiaramisu, cheesecake, black forest cake - - all YES, YES, YES

Food and service were fine! But the true delight was that 3 women who see each other once a year could walk in without a reservation on a saturday night and get a great table and not be rushed by the staff in any way.

This was a cozy, delicious find for us on the UES - the gnocchi and ravioli were wonderful - they have a fantastic wine list, and the service was lovely. Would recommend to anyone!
