Description: Designed by partner Jean Denoyer, Orsay strikes that difficult balance of sophisticated-chic in a warm convivial atmosphere. Dark mahogany raised paneled walls meet Art Nouveau styled arches in a deep, creamy butter color. The floor is a work of art, Italian mosaic tiles in warm tones of precious metals hand laid in a beautiful fan pattern that floats in waves across the expanse of floor. Banquettes with high wood backs topped with frosted glass panels provide privacy if wanted, and the low, soft lighting emanates from Art Nouveau period chandeliers that Denoyer had custom designed. A 20-foot long zinc-topped wood bar shipped in one piece from France, and French doors that spill onto the sidewalk terrace, completing the feeling that you are in the 9th arrondisement in Paris. This sophisticated and elegant Parisian-style brasserie marries modern French cuisine and classic brasserie fare. Orsay's award-winning wine list includes all 300 predominantly French and American varietals.

Perhaps the finest and most authentic French boulangerie in Manhattan. Awesome bruch, great dinner, in all, never a bad time and worth the money. At times the front end can seem snooty and the waiters can be slow to serve.

The restaurant offers good wines and entrees options, but the dessert menu falls short. I had the duck filet and it was really good. The service could be improved. It is kind of fun seing servers forcing french accents.

This reminds me of being in Paris, the decor and the food. The foegra(?) is just like I had in Provence, France. The beef tartare really fantastic. The wines and sweets are nice. The organic chicken with potatoes is so tasty. The vegetables were very fresh. Well return to this establishment next time we are in town.

We were looking for a pleasant place for this late lunch on a sunny afternoon. Orsay offers this and a quite interesting choice of fresh dishes, including a great beef tartare and great salads. The service is excellent with very attentive waiters and waitresses. A great choice of French wines and sweets.

The Oregon Grass Fed Beef Burger with swiss and french fries was absolutely delicious! The waiter recommended Colomba (white beer) which rounded off the meal to perfection. Will be back for brunch again real soon!
