In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. “Classy yet casual”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

The concierge at the hotel we stayed recommended this for a small celebration we had planned. We were surprised to get a table at a short notice, though it was a late second sitting. The first thing that struck us was the buzzing energy as we walked in, an upscale crowd but there was nothing uppity about their attitude. The service was impeccable, and the attention to detail was fantastic (I had stepped out to the restroom and as I was returning one of the waiters was already at our table helping me to get into my seat!) The food was outstanding. The brazilian styled prawns soup was an amazing dish, it was fusion food but the flavours were so well balanced, it showed the deep understanding the chef had of his ingredients. The whole meal had this feature of balance and surprise at the same time. One of the best meals of the fusion kind I have ever had. The staff is very engaged and is proud to work in a place like this. Will surely return there.

“Acclaimed chef's restaurant for a reasonable price”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

If you are looking to try a world-class chef's restaurant at an affordable price, visit Daniel Boulud's, Cafe Boulud in Manhattan. Compared to his other fine dining establishments, like Daniel, also in Manhattan, this one is much more affordable. We went for lunch and had the Prix fixe lunch for $43 (app, entree, dessert). Bottles of wine were available for $30. There are also 4 other parts to the menu: farmers market, Spring season, world voyager, and French classics; which are all what you would expect. The food was superb, the service, a bit leisurely, and the atmosphere, noisey. However, for the budget-conscious traveler wanting to try one of these celebrity chef establishments, this is a good way to do it.

“My favorite Hotel in NYC”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

This was my first stay at the Surrey and could not have been happier with my selection. The rooms were beautifully appointed with upgraded decor and technology. The service was superb and the food and beverage outstanding. The location on Madison and 76 was perfect for dining, shopping and walking in the city. I am excited to return and stay at the Surrey, its a Relais & Chateaux and one of those best kept secrets in NYC.
