Description: CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines. In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40. The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards. DANIEL • DB Bistro Moderne •Boulud Sud• Bar Boulud • DBGB Kitchen & Bar

Service, food, ambience superb! Credit toward dinner included in our package. Our best meal in New York! Loved the orange zest Madeline's served hot for dessert.

After an amazing meal at the Montreal Boulud, we thought we would try cafe Boulud in NYC and were not disappointed at all. We went for lunch and had the price fixe menu which was excellent value and really great food. My girlfriend had the trout and I had the lamb, both of which were excellent. We paid significantly more in other restaurants in the city for meals which were no where near as exceptional. Very attentive service, lovely wine and best dessert ever.

I grew up in New York with foody parents, and am an avid eater myself, so I have frequented some of the best restaurants in Manhattan and this is my absolute favorite. There are no pretensions, the décor is elegant and simple, the menu not overdone, and the waiters friendly and courteous, not stuck up as at other high end restaurants. All this allows for the food to shine. The classic French food, and the international cuisine is spectacular and perfectly seasonal. Everything is cooked perfectly and has harmonious flavors, without any gimmicks or unnecessary flourishes. The presentation is beautiful. It's not a production like Daniel or Eleven Madison Park, so one can focus on the delicious food.

They also have a great wine list!

Cafe Boulud is in the mid-range of Daniel Boulud's continuously growing empire. He has Daniel which is at the top end and competes with the likes of Per Se, etc. Cafe Boulud is on the elegant side without the fussiness and pretensions of the upper tier places. We went with a group of six for dinner and the service and pacing was well done. At times we had 6 servers to ensure all our plates were put down at the same time which made me giggle a bit. The menu is organized into themes - traditional, seasonal, market and world. You can pick across all. All six of us enjoyed our food. I had a crudo of fluke to start, grilled cod and a dark chocolate soufflé cake for dessert. Everything was excellent and all the diners had a similar opinion about their food. We liked that we could talk without shouting but that we could also not feel like we had to whisper. All in all, I think it hits the right note.

My wife and I had lunch here during a day at The Met. Our waitress was fantastic. She suggested amazing wines to match the 3 courses of the prix fixe, and even gave us a complimentary sparkling dessert wine (our first) which was amazing. Efficient and attentive, we could have filled up on the bread that was offered!

The food was good, the service and the wine outstanding.
