“Excellent opening hours, convenient and reasonably priced”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

They were open on Christmas Day and the staff were very good, attentive and listened to what we wanted. We stayed at The Beacon for 6 nights and this Cafe was our regular breakfast spot. They do need to learn to relate to the customers the staff are a little jaded, it I spoke Italian it would have been interesting I am sure. The patriarch made the best lattes but when he was not working it was hit and miss. Food was fresh, well cooked and plenty of it. If you are staying at the beacon pay it a visit and make your own mind up, I enjoyed it my husband on,yngave it a three star rating. Giggling.

We had breakfast there a few times whilst staying at the beacon, nice food but the people working there seem very jaded, no one appeared happy to be there, disappointing!

“OK but customer service came with Attitude.”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

Ate here a couple of times, once for breakfast and once for a snack on the day of arrival. Food OK, there are better places to eat in the area. We didn't find the staff particularly friendly and felt it was a case of order quickly and don't ask too many questions when you do.

“A menu for all...”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

If you are unsure of what you want to eat, this is a great place... It is called a Cafe, but I call it an upscale diner. Whatever you call it, the food choices are extensive and you are sure to find something appetizing. We had the octopus appetizer which was delicious and the best thing we ordered. My business partner had the turkey meat loaf and said it was moist and tasty. I had a patty melt which was moist and flavorful. While we did not have dessert, we did see some delicious looking items in the case... It took a while for our server to arrive at our table and take our drink order but after that he was attentive but far from congenial. Prices were reasonable.

“The Breakfasts Are Really Good! Wear a Coat in the Winter!!”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

I have to say that the food here was very good indeed, but it can be an unpleasant experience if you are seated anywhere near the front door in cold weather. We happened to go in there for a late breakfast Thanksgiving morning just as the Macy's parade was ending; so the restaurant was as stuffed as the turkey! And we were therefore required to wait in line for perhaps 20 minutes, with the door behind us constantly opening and closing. Not only was it annoying for us, with that blast of cold air coming at us, but we could tell that a number of folks sitting at their meals were likewise very uncomfortable.

The service, considering the challenges, was impressive--friendly and professional at the same time. And the food was wonderful. I wouldn't even begin to make suggestions, since my wife and I had two different choices each, and they were all excellent. We'd go back--just probably in warmer weather!
