La Mirabelle is an old standby that offers much better than expected cuisine and service. It feels exactly like a bistro in France unlike most bistro wanabees in New York City. The food is universally delicious and the service informal, friendly, and informed. Very good value as well.

Quiet, comfortable, outstanding service and delicious food. What else you expect? If you want to be right, go for it. Try the duck, but try the escargots first, served with fresh selected breads. You can´t be wrong!

Had Sunday brunch there it was wonderful everyone at the table enjoyed their meals in fact it was so good we came for dinner the next evening Annek and Danielle (little Danielle) were the perfect hosts of this fabulous restaurant. We will be back time and time again when we travel to the city that never sleeps.

I had been here before for brunch, but last night I went for dinner. This is a strange place for New York City. You feel you are in the suburbs here. It's French comfort food served in a slightly tacky environment to a crowd of elderly people. Sound interesting? Not really. The service was very good. The food, while good, isn't extraordinary. It's just very good, very heavy and soothing, but this isn't a gourmet establishment and doesn't try to be. It is pricey and dinner for two came to about $150. I'd rather spend that money someplace where the food is truly wonderful like Balthazar, Nice Matin or Ouest. This is French food the way your granny would have cooked it. If that appeals to you, then go. I just don't get why the place is so popular, but it is and always crowded.

Had a good meal which could have been exceptional if the service had been more attentive. Food is really good and the restaurant is a good value. Not enough wait staff meant those who were there were harried. Young woman who took care of us also had food stains on her clothes which was also unappetizing. Since it's neighborhood-y lots of kids which can be a turnoff to couples like us when they are noisy and don't stay in their chairs. There are so many really great places to eat in the city, and French places on the Upper West Side, so not likely we will be here anytime soon.
