My family of four ate very well at Pappardella. We were disappointed that they don't serve pizza during the dinner hour but we each ordered a different pasta and we were each pleased. The pasta was fresh and the sauces were tasty (I loved the mushroom sauce on my pasta). My husband's gnocchi with pesto was probably the favorite.

The antipasto was a real treat and the brocolli rabe was good though a little bland for our taste.

Our server was considerate and professional and our meals arrived more quickly than we would have expected.

Without wine our meal, including tip, was $110.

Well, it's a long story, but, we needed a place - fast. And this is a great place. Lot's of families though... crying children.

Decent neighborhood place. Beter atmosphere than food.

We went to Pappardella on a Monday evening around 6 p.m. It was a warm night so many patrons had chosen to dine outdoors. We decided to dine indoors where there was plenty of room. While service was good, it did take the waitress a while to get to our table--in other words she wasn't as prompt about it compared to other places. By the time she did show up we knew exactly what we wanted to order. We started with a salad called "mista alla casa" which was mesclun greens with tomatoes. The dressing was nice--olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette--just right, not overpowering. For my main course, I had a rigatoni dish that had cubes of white meat chicken, asparagus and cherry tomatoes in what appeared to be an olive-oil based sauce (they called it "cherry tomato sauce"). It was delicious. The pasta was cooked al dente and tasted homemade. My husband had rigatoni with meat sauce which he enjoyed. We didn't try any dessert although it all sounded tempting but we were full. If you happen to be in the Upper West Side and want Italian food, consider trying Pappardella--I doubt you'll be disappointed.
