We made a reservation at this cozy place on a cold, rainy Memorial Day weekend Saturday. My husband, daughters and I were in town for the day and met up with our friends and their son and another visiting out-of-stater. We were seated immediately and our server was sweet, friendly and attentive. The bread was deliciously chewy, and our drinks and appetizer were delivered quickly. All of the kids ordered pizza, which was thoughtfully cut into small pieces and was gobbled up quickly, which is a miracle considering how picky our kids can be! The adults had both pizza and pasta and they were very good as well. We finished up with some generous servings of super-creamy gelato, chocolate lava cake, and coffee and were on our way. The restaurant is a loud space, but we didn't mind, as we didn't want to have to shush our children every five minutes. We enjoyed our meal, the prices were reasonable (by Manhattan standards), and I would definitely recommend Pappardella.

I don't understand the other reviews that say that the food was good. The food was mediocre at best and service was horrible. We were a big group of 10 so maybe the waiters thought they were guaranteed their tip so didn't care but we could barely hail down our waiter. Food was bland and we had a lot leftover. A restaurant that cared would ask why there was so much leftover on the plate, but no one asked here.

We chose to have our wedding meal here after reading such good reviews. We were a party of 11 (including 3 young children). The food was delicious and the wine list was impressive. The staff were very knowledgable and able to answer any queries. We had a set menu which was good value, most opted for the lamb which was cooked to perfection! The kids meals were equally tasty. The chef even baked us a 'wedding' cake for dessert which was delicious. The restaurant was busy as it was a Friday evening but the atmosphere was still relaxed and cosy.

We also ate lunch here the previous day and I can recommend the pizza.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, everything about it from the staff to the atmosphere to the food was incredible.

I've eaten at Pappardella for many years. This last time, I met with my son and his 'serious' girlfriend. It was the perfect place to meet her and spend time chatting. The food was excellent as always and the wine list very impressive. Pricing is very reasonable and the location is great for Lincoln or Natural History Museum among other places.

We went for dinner on a Saturday night to this restaurant with some family members because we had a 30% discount coupon--without that coupon I would have never gone because this place is not worth the regular prices. But even with another discount coupon, I would never go back.

The tables are extremely close together, the place is very noisy, and it is difficult to hear yourself talk. This is also not a place for a leisurely dinner--there are people standing by the door (there is no waiting area) looking at you to see when you will finish.

The food ranged from mediocre to average. The pasta and sauce were okay, but the calamari tasted like rubber, and the crabmeat was very tough. The mussels and clams were tasty, but miniscule. The veal was overcooked and one of the smallest portions I have seen in an Italian restaurant. This is not a place where you will get so much that you need a doggy bag to bring some home.

This place was packed--mainly by tourists who don't know any better. For the same or less money there are many other much better Italian restaurants in the neighborhood.
