“Mac Daddy Mac and Cheese”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

I was SOOOO happy with my buffalo chicken mac and cheese here, I almost ordered another serving. Bar tenders were cool and the ambiance was chill. Good prices and was well worth it. Best part is they have free goldfish at the bar!

“Casual Upper Westside Good Meal-warm atmosphere”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

Fred's has good food & service with a decent wine list. Reasonable prices and an atmosphere of warmth & relaxation. It has become our " go to" local restaurant every three weeks or so. My partner & I can hear each other & catch up. Photos of dogs cover the walls....lovely & we even don't own a dog.

“Great neighborhood spot”

Great place for a casual meal out. Dog pictures everywhere which adds to the ambiance. Sandwiches, wings, salads, etc... Pop in and enjoy. Good food and portions for a great price.

“Great food, poor service”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

I went there with a group of friends, we were 8 in total, and had a reservation. We came 10 minutes earlier as they required. Unfortunatly we did not get a table before 20 minutes after our reservation time. We had to wait in the tiny bar corner, with not a lot of room, which was a bit uncomfortable.
Beside this, the food was excellent. I had the veggie burger with sweet potatoe fries, and my friends got the pastas, mac n' cheese and regular burgers. We all loved the food there.
We had to ask 3 times to get the check though.

So over all, great place to eat comfort food, but don't expect a great service.

“Forget Good Enough to Eat across the road!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We intended on having Saturday brunch at the much spoken about Good Enough to Eat across the road, however the queue was ridiculous.

Fred's across the road attracted us with the outdoor seating and the nice looking plates of food on folks tables.

A great burger (actually better than Good Enough to Eat) and a very tasty chicken & avocado sandwich. Washed down with a nice fresh Pinot Grigio (apparently) and the lager on tap was really nice.....whatever it was.

Friendly staff and a good wee place to sit outside in the sun. The inside had a good atmosphere too and was a bit "Cheers-like". Not overly expensive either.

A good wee place for brunch, especially if the sun is shining.
