Description: Located at the Mercer Hotel, Mercer Kitchen brings a chic, sophisticated vibe to the heart of SoHo. When Mercer Kitchen opened in 1998, it immediately became a destination for New Yorkers, celebrities, and tourists. Situated in the basement of a historic building constructed in the 1800s, the restaurant was designed by Christian Liaigre as a combination of industrial and classic modernism. Chef Jean-Georges' American menu features market-driven, seasonal ingredients prepared in a simple yet elegant style, with favorites like the Tuna Spring Roll, Steamed Shrimp Salad, wood-fired pizzas, and classic Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake. There is an open kitchen, where guests can sit back and watch the show. The perfect restaurant for group dining, special events and celebrations.

The hostesses can be sassy but once you've got a table and a nice waiter, you are set for a pleasant meal. My favorite time to come is brunch but lunch is also nice.

Anything you choose will taste good and refined and you will want to come again. I know I do.

Great to see restaurants like Mercer Kitchen participate in N Y Restaurant Week. Classy but cool design, the open kitchen is a hit.
The menu looked cool and intresting, sorry the delivery were not that good. Rather bleek presentation, Crispy Gulf Shrimp with Herbs and Citrus-Chili Sauce
lacked finess, soggy deep fried parlsley and a huge cup of the mediocer sauce
.Followed by Miso Glazed Hake with Bok Choy and Lime, undercooked like sashimi in the middle, on op of that lukewarm. The Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake, Crisp Orange Tuile, Vanilla Ice Cream saved the day. I give it a second chance another time!

A great place to snuggle up in one of the booths. The drinks were tasty and the raw platter was delicious.

We went to Mercer Kitchen for a Sunday lunch. The place was heaving with youngish, cool New Yorkers, a very busy and cool atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly, helpful and professional. I don’t think you go there for an amazing culinary experience: we are talking great burgers, salad, oysters, nothing fancy but great Sunday brunch food. If I were a New Yorker I would go there quite regularly. Fab cocktails and wine list.

Again, if you are looking for a Sunday brunch place this is it, right in the middle of Soho, you can check out all the great shops around pre or post lunch, best shopping area in NY!
