Good food (not just Japanese) with several healthy options. Reasonable prices. I went there more than once, and each time the waitress seemed preoccupied and forgetful. I had to repeatedly make the same request, and fimally went into the kitchen to get the server's attention.

Dojo's is located in the heart of the Village, just south of Washington Square Park. The menu contains many vegetarian dishes (the Vegetarian Stew and the Vegetarian Platter are my favorites) and there are always a few specials on the blackboard. There are a few meat dishes but this restaurant is mainly for those who prefer grains and veggies. Try a side of their Tahini Dressing. And a wonderful surprise....all dishes are really affordable in a city known for its high food prices.

We had a good inexpensive and healthy meal, and the waitress was great - quick, friendly and attentive - even when the place had filled up and she was run off her feet. Only in NY for a few days and this will be our default eatery.

The "Chopstick Salad" was delicious, but the waitress deserves to be chopped.

It was "seat yourself" and we sat for 15 minutes before the waitress came over and asked us about our order. We never even got menus. Once the food came, it was mistake after mistake: wrong salad dressing, wrong soup, dressing on top of the salad when asked to have it on the side. Yikes! She even brought a beer to the customer next to us, when his order was never even taken. He also complained about sitting there for 15 minutes. Since the restaurant is right next to NYU, I figured it was a college student trying to earn money for her tuition, so of course we tipped the customary 20%.

To sum it all up, the food was fresh and tasty, but the waitress was terrible!

Cold Sesame Noodles, Veggie burger in a whole wheat pita, avocado on the side. Lemon, honey and ginger tea at the end. Their famous Carrot-Tahini Dressing on all (except the tea) I've been going to Dojo's for 15 years, and I have never been disappointed. This is really a NYU hangout, but they really have wonderful food at fantastic prices.
