“Great food”
Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

We ate here today for an early dinner and the food was fabulous. We had the filet mignon, ny strip steak and rack of pork loin for our entrees. Our sides were mashed potatoes, spinach, and the southwest fries. Everything was delicious. The service was very attentive and quick. This restaurant deserves all the rave reviews even if it is expensive. Our bill was $190 for 3 people.

“Fantastic food with great presentation”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

I was so excited to see that Mesa Grill was participating in restaurant week. My girlfriends arrived prior to our reservation so we sat at the bar to wait. The bartenders were friendly and hustling to get everyone served as quickly as possible. Even though a glass of wine was $11, it was a large pour. We were seated promptly at our reserved time on the second floor. Even though we had a nice view of the restaurant and those eating dinner, we felt as if tourists were seated upstairs away from New Yorkers. For $38 you had your choice of an appetizer, main course and dessert. Needless to say, the food was fantastic. I chose the sweet potato soup, the grilled mahi mahi, and the coconut bread pudding. The service was great - don't pass up any opportunity to eat here!

“Chef Flay does not disappoint at the NYC pop spot!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

There is an interesting dynamic at Bobby Flay's NYC pop spot. The Native New Yorkers typically eat and drink in the lively and buzzing bar are while tourists and visitors have the fully table side dining experience. His restaurant week menu is generous and savory. In my opinion, the food quality has improved over the past few years. 5 years ago I would have rated it as average. Stick with his chicken dishes if poultry suits your fancy. Great for meeting up with friends for after work. A bit noisy and tight, but you will be done quickly as service is swift then you can migrate to one of the meat packing other nightlife spots!!

“Restaurant week must”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Great service and excellent food. Restaurant week makes it affordable to try. I ate there during restaurant week and it was the best meal I ever ate, really! I went back again for brunch and it was delicious! Reservations did seem to assure better seating;-)

“All Hype - No Substance”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This place is over-rated. The food is average. For the cost you should get much more. They have a reputation for excellent steaks. We thought they were average. The wine is expensive -- 2x the cost of an entree.
