“super authentic and back to the past”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

we dropped in at lunch time and had some small paltes (tapas style) sitting at the bar and wow did i feel like we had stepped back in time to 1950s spain. the food tasted very good and was a defintie bargain price; the service was fast and efficient; I would say worth stopping by if you in the neighbourhood and want some authentic tasting food -

“Very Good Food, Very Reasonable”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

If you like Spanish food and basic ambiance and a definite NYC bargain this is the place for you. The prices are very reasonable and the food was quite good with very generous portions. There is a "back in the day" feel to the restaurant - no fancy decor, and business-like older men waiters. They serve tapas for free in the bar and will also bring some tapas of their choosing to your table at the beginning of the meal. It's not fancy, but very enjoyable.

“Great find”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

I have eaten here for the last 30 years. As soon as you sit down they start feeding you. The sangria is delicious and so is the food.

“Truly unbelievable. Feels like you have gone back 30 years.”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Truly unbelievable value for what you get. Almost too good to believe. Don't be scared off when the waiter puts a salad and 3-4 appetizers on your table almost immediately after you sit down and you are not charged for them. Atmosphere feels and looks like it has not change or been updated since the place opened but the food is very good and the prices are unbelievably reasonable.

“Great food, friendly staff, a real bargain!”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

We arrived around 10 pm on a Friday night. The front room consisting of a bar and dining tables was packed with a happy crowd. We passed small dining areas on the way to the dining room in the back which wasn't crowded. I loved the atmosphere - a great combination of old and newer decorations. The waiter brought 3 dishes of delicious appetizers to the table gratis. I ordered the paella and my husband ordered the shrimp with rice - both delicious and so plentiful, it was our Saturday dinner too. Loved the cappuchino and the dessert - and the bill, which was downright cheap for a NY restaurant. I highly recommend the restaurant.
