Description: Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002. Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine. We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004. Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs. Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

My wife and I visited here almost by chance when on holiday in NYC recently for a few days - and we're glad we did.

We weren't massively hungry so had a couple of starters. The squid with tempura zucchini was incredible and my wife had a hot kale salad which was also great. I had to have another portion of the squid as it was so good!

We had some excellent Primitivo red wine by the glass and a couple of espressos to finish with. Our waiter, Michael, was very attentive, friendly and professional so we felt like we were in good hands.

All in all a great experience, and well priced, which we would highly recommend.

The back of the restaurant has a roof in the winter, and then it's open to the sky in the summer months! We had a really great, fun, delicious Italian meal! They also have quite a few different and unique cocktails!

We really enjoyed our meal at Crispo. The food was great and the back room was so quaint with a nice elevated fire that could be enjoyed by all. The staff was great, too. Great wine selection. Overall, we loved this place!

This is a quaint little italian restaurant. The night we went it was very quiet but that said the food was good, not great. The wines by the glass were very fairly priced by any standard but especially NYC. The same is true of the appetizers and main dishes. We started with the zucchini flowers (solid) and the carmelized cauliflower (fair). Follwing the apps, we had the polpette which was good and the fettucine bolognese which likewise was good. The service was good but the dishes came out right after each (I blame that on the kitchen, not the server) and did not allow us time to chat between courses. Given the slowness of the night, it was a little bothersome. Nonetheless, I would recommend it to those looking for a good meal at a very fair price.
