Best French Boule in NYC ! Secret can even find it on the UES @ German Deli Schaller & Weber. Yes Balthazar is crowded & very loud & hard to make reservations. But that is part of the NYC French Bistro charm ! Fav is to come early & eat @ the bar, ( no reservation needed ), around 6pm they put out hard boiled eggs, perfect pre dinner snack ! Love the moules frites or the salmon. Always take a load of bread to go...
à bientôt !

Energetic ambiance for a French bistro, lunch monday early afternoon. We order the petit filet and duck confit, delicious. Dessert have the almond tart and chocolate pot great as well. The service is efficient and courteous. $70/person with tip.

As everyone know, the food is good, but the place is noisy and crowded. My trick is to come late and sit in the bar area.

The place is way overpriced and overrated in my mind. The service is professional and accurate however I can't say anything special about the breakfast we had. Regular egg dishes (Benedict and omelettes). The coffee mugs are nice but the coffee was not at the right temperature. Our friend arrived late and ordered a burger from the lunch menu which she liked. Overall I don't think it provides good value for your money.

The food is French and the service is attentive but unobtrusive. The Aperol Spritz was superb. Nice atmosphere and decor. Charming block in the Soho neighborhood.
