As a New Yorker, I have eaten at numerous Italian restaurants all over the City. This place was excellent and very authentic Italian food. Veal Parm, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Baked Clams, Baked Shrimp in garlic, all Amazing!
Enter into one dining room, and then through the kitchen to another dining room, which was very comfortable. Waiters were attentive and helpful with the menu.
Just doesn't get better than this!!!

Best food we ate in NYC! Authentic Italian cuisine served in a family environment. It was a perfect third wedding anniversary dinner. Thanks Ballatos!

I love this hidden place in SOHO. Every I am in NYC it is a must stop and I always take my friends.
The price is low compared with those in the city and the food is divine.
Is a haunt for celebrities asJustin Bieber and Rihanna.
In my opinion they have the best Spaghetti with Meatballs in NYC.

It is a kind of speak easy place with small entrance that you dont expect. Our friends in NYC introduced it to us and we were so happy to find. The food is excellent and service is very attentive. Worth to visit!

A fabulous anachronism. Ballato's serves real Italian-American food, like so many restaurants used to serve but have adulterated (like in Little Italy) or fetishised by overpriced places like Carbone. What is wonderful here is that there is no self-referential hipness, this place is cool because it is itself. I almost hate to tell others about this place because i don't want it "discovered" but it is worth it. Say hello.
