“Spanish food in the Village, A+ Lunch”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Great lunch specials 12-4 pm. $11.95. [Weekend add $2]. Choice of 3 soups + maincourse (20+), coffee & dessert $1 extra. Plus glass of wine, beer, or sangria. Sangria is not just fruity, packs a punch. I had the Paella Valenciana with sausage ,scallops, shrimp, mussels, chicken and spanish rice. Enough for two. Wife always gets her own. Both caldoo soup and gazpacho excellent. Fast and attentive service. A regular monthly visit for many years.

“Nice late night find”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We attended a concert on 10-11 in NYC and didn't have a place for dinner after the concert. We heard Sullivan street was a good place to start. Not being familiar with anyplace we settled on Cafe Espanol. We shared a dish of the Paella Valencia. Typical Paella but clams, shrimp, sausage, chicken, etc. The dish was light enough for a late night dinner. Our server was attentive. The place was a little noisy and cramped, but it is NYC, right? I don't know that I would go there for a romantic dinner at 8 PM, but under the circumstances, it fit perfectly with our evening. We were pleased.

“Happy to find it”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

Excellent tapas. If you go between 4pm-7pm all tapas were $6. Pitcher of Sangria was only $15. Excellent prices. Best tapas we had were the Sizzling Shrimp. So good we ordered 2 more. Sangria was very good, too. Nice cozy little restaurant. Will be back on my next trip to NYC.
