We recently celebrated our anniversary at Bouley. Course after course, the food was creative and delicious, beautifully prepared and presented. From the moment we walked in the door until we left, we were cared for by an extraordinarily attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant is lovely and comfortable. This is an evening we will remember fondly for many years.

No notice two days before a trip to NYC for my daughter's 19th birthday that they were "renovating"
Really, you didn't know you were renovating until 2 days before my reservation, and then the only reason I found out was they make an enormous deal out of calling to confirm or they will give away your reservation. Never again. Too many restaurants as worthy or more worthy of an evening out.

Bouley is our favorite among NYC's de luxe restaurants, but there is room for improvement in the kitchen (service was excellent, as it always has been in my experience). Of approximately twelve dishes we tasted on a recent visit, two were below Bouley's standard: in one case because other flavors masked the crab flavor that should have been dominant, in the other case because the lobster was rubbery -- either because it was not perfectly fresh or because it had been cooked wrongly. But we will sure be going back!

It looks lie it would be one of those dinners you'll always remember and ...it's not. Don't get me wrong...the location is wonderful, the numerous staff friendly and well-learnt ,the food is good...but it is still too far away for being exceptional ...still the prices are !The nice Connecticut Egg Farm cost more than 30 dollar, the Sirloin NY Steak some 50 dollars (disappointing) , the wine cellar is huge but many wines are far too expensive for the quality level or the vintage.
The amuse-bouche, the starters, different breads and desserts are very good but the entrees are too average for a restaurant that has this pricing. The staff is excellent.

Possibly the best lunch I have ever eaten. Any time you have 2-3 hr to spare for lunch and few people whose company you cherish, run to Bouley for the spectacular lunch tasting menu which at $55 pp might be the best deal in town. Food, service, atmosphere, all beyond all expectations and the beer is less expensive than at Yankee Stadium. Having eaten here, I have finally found a place that has filled the void left when Lutece closed its doors. Oh yes, think about taking a public conveyance here so you can walk home as the food is so good that you will want to finish each and every dish and this way you won't feel guilty about it. If you live close by think about a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge or to Central Park afterward.
