OK - I couldnt resist and got the Black Label burger. It was delicious, probably the best restaurant burger I've had in nyc. My fiance got the seabass and thought it was very good. All in all, solid meal, great atmosphere.

Great place where we shared a burger and steak with friends. The Black label burger is legendary-- the meat tasted like Ribeye steak or Filet Mignon, very tasty. The bun itself was underwhelming but the burger definitely makes up for it.

Minetta Tavern is famous for the Black Label Burger and has been profiled on many food programs. The burger is really good. If it is 26 dollars good is debatable. The service and the atmosphere are top notch. It's just hard to justify spending a hundred bucks at lunch and having just two burgers, fries, and two beers.

But boy was that a great burger! Definitely at $26 the most expensive I've ever had, but definitely the best by far I've ever had! Very beefy (aged beefy?) flavor, cooked to perfection with excellent caramelized onions.
Apart from that, sat in the bar area and service was fine, nothing earth shatteringly special or friendly.
