Description: Welcome to Paradou, a little bit of Provençal paradise in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Behind the sky-blue doors of a 19th century carriage house, is a restaurant that will transport you to your own quiet, romantic corner of the South of France. High ceilings and white-washed brick walls, bar and tables constructed of vintage French wine crates are the backdrop for a highly acclaimed list featuring more than 40 French wines, matched by an equally extensive and innovative seasonal menu overseen by Paul Bocuse & Daniel Boulud alum, Executive Chef, Kfir Ben Ari. As warm, welcoming and inviting as Paradou is, it is OUR HIDDEN, YEAR-ROUND GARDEN that makes it a true refuge in NYC. Possessing one of the most unique outdoor, all-season spaces, Paradou offers a wonderful setting for gatherings, whether an intimate dinner for two or large parties up to 100, in a private corner of idyllic Provençe in the heart of New York.

The food was very tasty and the location is great. We found the staff to be very nice. It was a very pleasant experience. I was concerned about going having read the previous review, but I am glad that I went there.

“AVOID AT ALLL COSTS!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

This places a total tourist trap. It has Meat Packing location, but that is all that is brought to the table. The service is outright amateurish, and the food is meh! There are so many great places to eat in the Meat Packing Distrcit.......just take a pass on this one. Ugggghhhh.........

“Amazing foie gras!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

After a disaster experience at the Plunge rooftop at the Gansevoort Hotel, we made our way down to find a place to eat. Looking around, we saw the sign for Paradou and liked the simple and elegant slogan "vin. cuisine. jardin". We made our way to it and sat down in the tiny restaurant room. We orderd a bottle of Chinon that was served properly chilled. We also ordered some foie gras, charcuterie and cheese. The foie gras was amazing: we had the au torchon, the terrine and the brule. The cheese was good and came with awesome homemade confitures! The charcuterie was good but nothing in particular. Overall, we loved it and the service was very friendly and matched the food quality.

“5 star for FOIE GRAS degustation”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

We are French from Lyon high specialisst from French restaurant knowing must of the best chef in France.
We have discoverd this place just walking because we didn't want to stay to the pastis restaurant to busy and to noisy.
At the first look we hesitated to enter but reading the menu we were intrested and asking if they have an other room; so they show us a back room quiet simple and confortable
Our choice was for the menu foie gras that offer the discovering of 5 type of foie gras for 49$ and a selection of 3 wine and one glass of champagne for 19$ .
A moment latter front of me I had a beautiful plate with 5 different preparation of foie gras with some specific side for each of them. A beautiful presentation like a rainbow.
after testing each of them and each wine I can tell you that it was a great great cooking art
a tresory for the mouth and the spirit, and a very good choise of very good wine. ( beaume de venise 2005, sauterne 2009, gewurtztraminer 2009 and champagne All the wine were great years for wine)
With a lot of objectivity the chef surprise me with this dégustation of foie gras it's the second time this year that a chef surprise me (the last one was in april LACOURTILLE DE SOLUTRE IN FRANCE)
This presentation and testing was much better than the foie gras I eat one month ago in France to 5 stars chef Georges Blanc INCREDIBLE ( and it was about 100 dollars without wine with this wine it ad been easly 200 dollars but it ad been in france....)
So I ask to be presented to the chef and what will be my surprise when I hear he study two years in LYON to BOCUSE School. We are from Lyon so we understood much better now
and we have been My wife test the tartr salmon and the tartar of beeth It was also excellent and well presented.
Again a very very good adress for french cooking with original thincking of cooking integreted spicy and herb and exotism in a french way of cookin
TANK YOU AGAIN FOR THAT PLEASUR here in NEW YORK

“Rustic charm, in the meatpacking district”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Paradou offers a French, mediterreanean fare. I was there for Brunch, great omelette's, but try Wake and Bake, creamy polenta with sunnyside eggs and sausage and cheese, yummy, for the morning after. Good French Toast too. They used to have a Foie Gras menu and they make their own Foie Gras, so anything with Foie Gras is heaven to me, they have several. All French wine list was very good. Friendly staff, great garden and all around New York kind of a place for Brunch.
