So, when we saw that Nerai was rated #1 for Greek food in NYC, ahead of Milos we were very excited to try the restaurant and decided to discover for ourselves what the fuss was about. Finishing ahead of Milos is no easy feat, it's virtually impossible!

The decor is nice, pleasant and refined. The servers were all extremely helpful and friendly. The food was good quite good. We particularly enjoyed the fried calamari, tuna tartare and pita with a caviar spread. All the appetizers were excellent. The main courses were good, the filet mignon was slightly over cooked, my shrimps were ok, as was the cod. Overall we preferred the appetizers over the main courses.

In general the experience was positive, was it better than Milos, not really but it's different, try it and decide for yourselves.

This is one great restaurant with an amazing menu, and afantastic staff. Nerai came to us highly recommened, and our meals were absolutely perfect. When I first heard that the restaurant offered "greek" cuisine, I was a bit unsure, but I was absolutely blown away by the offerings. The short rib “krasato”with potato metsovone gratin was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and full of wonderful flavor. My husband had the ora king salmon with spinach rice and crispy leeks. In addition we had the forked potatoes with truffle metsovone. The experience was so amazing that we asked to speak to the chef to thank him for providing these fantastic dinners. Chef Chris Christou was gracious and justifiably proud of his work. He credited his staff for working as a cohesive team to deliver the wonderful menu creations. This is very true, as the wait staff was outstanding...fun and funny, yet professional to the nth degree. He has absolutely succeeded in achieving his creative inspirations. This restaurant is one of the finest in New York, and we highly recommend it for anyone who loves great food and who enjoys sampling the talents of a great chef.

Beautiful, white, slightly sea influenced decor. Helpful and friendly staff. Great Greek food elegantly presented - we had lemon chicken with potatoes, grilled asparagus, gemista (stuffed vegetables), baked cod and grilled salmon. All delicious.

Tip-free - in keeping with Greek culture of welcoming hospitality, service is built into the price.

We had a lovely meal at Nerai last week. I had Cretan meatballs to start, short rib with orzo pasta for main and some baclava for pud. All three courses were so so tasty and good sized portions.
The staff were really friendly and attentive which always makes a meal more enjoyable. The restaurant decor was also a highlight.

Highly recommend!!
