Had the lunch menu and I wasnt disappointed. Great selection of some usual and some unusual dishes all cooked well with good ingredients. Would certainly visit again.

“What a nice find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

Had dinner at Nerai last week, recommended by the concierge at the Peninsula. What a gem of a restaurant. We have been disappointed at Greek and Mediterranean restaurants more than once in New York, so this was a great surprise. Octopus is some of the best we've had anywhere (my fiance is from Samos). Halibut (with English pea puree... amazing in it's own right) and Short Rib Youvetsi were wonderful. The portions are not typical fine dining New York so get ready to eat. We loved it so much we went back to the bar two nights later and had the Crab Cakes (and Octopus once again) and it was just as good if not better. As a cocktail, The Date is not to be missed, Forbidden Fruit is very good too. Staff was great and, instead of staring down their nose at you, want you to have fun and eat! Great find!

“Fab food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

One of my favorites from my first visit
Wine list is great and authentic. Who knew you could get a marvelous Retsina? Love their cocktails as well and have tried almost every option on the menu (except I do not eat beef, pork or chicken)
Everything was superb and after my second visit most of the staff greeted me like I was an old family friend.

“Beautiful Decor - Nice Bar Area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2014

Nerai is just across the street from Elysee Hotel - so it's very convenient if you're staying there! We didn't have dinner, but enjoyed appetizers and wine from Santorini in the bar. Very friendly bartenders too!

“A Greek restaurant of Olympian quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

A recent visit to Nerai turned a rainy Saturday evening into a culinary delight. The sleek and modern interior has a nautical motif. Seafood is excellent, although meat and pasta are also on the menu for those who prefer it. Service is welcoming, accomplished and professional. We dined on a superb octopus dish and an impossibly light halibut with artichokes. As for dessert, the lavender mousse is not to be missed. The wine list features selections from around the world, but the Greek wines are especially appropriate for the cuisine. We will return to Nerai, and encourage all to give it a trey.
