“Beautiful Decor - Nice Bar Area”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

Nerai is just across the street from Elysee Hotel - so it's very convenient if you're staying there! We didn't have dinner, but enjoyed appetizers and wine from Santorini in the bar. Very friendly bartenders too!

“A Greek restaurant of Olympian quality”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

A recent visit to Nerai turned a rainy Saturday evening into a culinary delight. The sleek and modern interior has a nautical motif. Seafood is excellent, although meat and pasta are also on the menu for those who prefer it. Service is welcoming, accomplished and professional. We dined on a superb octopus dish and an impossibly light halibut with artichokes. As for dessert, the lavender mousse is not to be missed. The wine list features selections from around the world, but the Greek wines are especially appropriate for the cuisine. We will return to Nerai, and encourage all to give it a trey.

“Exceptionally well-prepared and unique Greek food”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

My NYC-based colleague took me to lunch here after a client meeting, and it was the highlight of my 24 hour work trip to NYC. The prix fixe ($32) menu offered many tempting options; I chose the spinach pies (a creative diversion from the usual spanikopita), the chicken skewers (beautifully seasoned and with nice accompaniments), and the sponge cake desert (deliciously orange and moist and served with a perfect little scoop of bittersweet chocolate sorbet). We ate at the counter and enjoyed good service and pleasant ambiance. Definitely will return whenever I can, in order to work my way down the rest of that delicious menu!!

“Best Greek in NY!!!”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

Nerai is no doubt one of the best Greek restaurants in NYC!!!
Everything is perfect about this place from atmosphere, service and of course FOOD!!! Octopus appetizer is a must try, and the dips were presented so beautifully. Fish was tender and perfectly cooked. Lavender mousse desert will bring you to heaven, so make sure you will save some space for the best!!!

“Delicious food but to formal”
Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

Nice Greek restaurant, lovely hostess, excellent service and top quality food! However, restaurant is too formal for this kind of cusine. Bartenders and waitstaff need to relax and lighten up with customers ... too uptight. Although restaurant was packed you could hear a pin drop! I felt like I was in the library. Not a peep from any body! A more casual attitude would make this the perfect place for me. Food is excellent!
Get the stuffed calamari appetizer and lamb chops!
