This is a new production of an old show updated with awesome acrobatics and circus acts. It's like watching Cirque du Soleil on Broadway.

Pippin is one of my favourite shows to begin with but this production was fused with Cirque du Soleil acrobatics and dance moves plus a stunning lead actress - you can tell why she won a Tony Award this year. The storyline will deter some but you should go anyway as the entertainment value is fantastic. we went back for a matinee within the week!

This is a great production of Pippin with lots of circus numbers peppering you through out the show (and they are exceptionally well done). But keep in mind that this is a story within a story and you will need to stretch the imagination a little bit to buy into the story line.

Pippin was a delight in every way. It is an intelligent and interesting script and the setting in a circus atmosphere seems to fit the idea that Shakespeare so well stated when he said, "All the world's a stage," to which "Pippin" reminds us that we are merely players, and not even extraordinary ones at that. The acrobatics and the staging were so inventive. It is always delightful when a show is revived and reinvented at the same time. Who's to say whether the original Fosse choreography is the only way this show can be staged? Thank goodness the current production decided to go with a new vision for a new age. The show is very much a product of the 1970s from which it was birthed, but it still has magic to do for today's audiences as well. Not your typical feel good Broadway musical, and for that I am thankful. Long live, Pippin!

Even though most of the actors/singers are good, unfortunately the show does not come together well.
