Owner description: MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL is the real story of the one-of-a-kind sound that hit the airwaves in 1959 and changed our culture forever. This exhilarating show charts Motown Founder Berry Gordy's incredible journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, and so many more.

“A Musical delight”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Motown the Musical is a trip through time while listening to some of the most creative songs ever written. Whether young or old you can relate to the life story of Barry Gordy and find yourself singing right along with songs of the Temptations, Supremes, Smokey Robinson, & the Jackson 5. My teen daughter enjoyed every moment, even though many of the songs were popular 30 years before she was born! She loved it! This is a must see for classic radio music lovers! It will truly take you back!

“Motown - musical”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Great show, the music, of course was fantastic, especially the actor who played Berry Gordy - what a voice, and the kid who played a young Michael Jackson. Worth the price just for those two! The seats at the Lunt Fontaine are very snug and close together, just saying!

“Best Show”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

This is probably the best show we have seen in a long time. The theatre is extremely nice and allows a good view from most anywhere (seen show twice). The show did a great job of finding the right singers for each character. The young Micheal Jackson was fantastic. I do not believe there is anyone that would not enjoy this show! They play all of the old favorites we all know with great music and singing.....i cannot say enough good things.

“Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson protrayals are exceptionally good”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

This is a crowd pleasing show of the first order! I found the acting somewhat weak as was the script, yet this was just a vehicle for the music which was outstanding! The actor who portrayed the late Marvin Gaye was just incredible, as was the young man who played 12 year-old Michael Jackson. You felt you were watching the actual people! The show sped by because it was so enjoyable, you simply did not want it to end.
