“Perfect for a nine-year-old girl”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

We were fortunate enough to get tickets for the Friday before Easter and treated our grandkids to the show. I had a bit of a hard time understanding the English accents, but otherwise the show was first rate. Our nine-year-old granddaughter had read the book and was on the edge of her seat the entire night. The set, show and actors were superb.

“Great Show!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

Three mums and our four "little miracles" just returned from a wonderful trip to NYC. We all agreed that Matilda was our favorite activity. The show was funny and the songs were catchy. I only gave it 4 out o 5 stars because sometimes the children were hard to understand.

“Great cast, great music, a great show for all the family!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

The gorgeous Shubert Theatre opened in in 1913 and seats 1463 people. Currently home to Matilda The Musical, which is very definitely a show for all the family. I was hooked on the 1996 film of Matilda. It was a shame Roald Dahl never got to see either the film or this musical adaptation of his story line which is bought alive by the music of the incredibly talented Tim Minchin.

Fabulous all singing and dancing set and the cast? Well ... just fantastic. Adults and children alike. The energy in the auditorium was electric. There are four young actresses who share the part if Matilda and we were captivated by 10 year old Paige Brady's performance. Miss Trunchball was so brilliantly portrayed by Pamela Ferris in the film, so I wasn’t sure about this dastardly character being played by a man, currently Christopher Seiber, but it worked. He was very scary!

The production is great fun and the music will stay in your head. A difficult choice to decide what to go and see on Broadway, but if you are in New York City with your family, then go and see Matilda The Musical.

“Talented cast !”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

The kid actors were amazing......and unbelievably precise! Very impressive cast overall...... The choreography and set design were especially outstanding. The songs were forgettable, however, and the story could be frightening for little kids- although for older kids especially, what a great first experience with a Broadway musical!
