“One of the best”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Hands down, one of the best bars I've been to. Old school, gangs of NY feel. Sawdust on the floor, exposed wood beams, novelty grocery store in the back, & some of the most unique and delicious drinks ever concocted. The 2nd floor is equip with an arsenal of cocktails; truly a mixologist's dream as you can page though their 50+ page drink menu! Great food too & they have oyster / absinthe-cocktail happy hours! The only thing is the drinks could weigh in on the pricier side $18-20+, especially in FiDi, but well worth it...

“Dead Rabbit joy”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Ooh what a find! We arrived on a bitterly cold January day after a Staten Island Ferry trip and had the most fantastic welcome. We only had drinks but just loved the atmosphere and the history of the place. We will return! Can we add our photos to the all the wonderful ones displayed?

“Amazing Bar”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

We absolutely loved this bar. Its such a cool place with great beers and cocktails.
Downstairs has mostly beers and a few cocktails on the menu, upstairs is a different vibe with an extensive cocktail menu. The drinks are amazing.

Our first time here, we arrived on a very cold night in December about 11.30pm. We were given free Irish Coffee's and mince pies which were both amazing!! It was a nice touch and the service is great.

Our second time (the next day) we enjoyed more beers downstairs then got to go upstairs to the Parlor. We loved it. The drinks were really great and the guy serving us really knew his stuff. He made some great recommendations from the cocktail menu, which is really tough to choose from as there are so many amazing looking drinks.

I cant comment on the food too much, we only had the chips with dips, which were a great snack and enjoyed by all.

If I lived in NYC I would go here all the time.

“Really cool bar - AMAZING DRINKS AND FOOD”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Our hotel recommended this place at the beginning of our stay, and my only regret is not going here soon enough. The drinks are amazing, and their lunch was best we had in NYC. If you're not into the bar scene and prefer a more laid back meal, head upstairs to the Parlor.

My only complaint is our waiter/bartender wasn't the most personable... I asked for recommendations and wasn't given much. Then again, we did eat a late lunch here on New Year's Eve, so I'm sure he had a lot to do to prepare for that night's festivities. This small detail can be overlooked since the meal and drinks were so yummy. Being from the South, I'm learning we are just used to over-the-top service.

GO HERE right away. We would have returned every day if we had known sooner!

“Cosy Old-time Cocktail Bar”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

Was grateful to a friend for getting us into the upstairs bar of The Dead Rabbit. It's a cosy, lively, happening old-time bar with cocktails of some power, but with unusual ingredients. Make mine Mezcal every time! Some cocktails are quaintly served in old china teacups and saucers complete with the lip to protect your moustache. An old-time pianist plays a mix of jazz and old-time tunes.
Went to the downstairs bar a few days later, and the food is homely and tasty. I had a steak pie and mash, which was enormous but tasty with big bits of steak and veges. Very good.
