it's so hard to find great food at reasonable prices in midtown, and bricola succeeds! the friendly staff and the great dishes (get the burrata and the lobster risotto and the octopus) make this place a go-again.

This place is small - almost as small as a "botique hotel room". There is literally one table which is bar stool high and seats maybe 16 people. You can sit next to or across from others in your group. There is a menu with "small plates" and "entres" and salads. Lots of food choices and a lot of wine. Unfortunately I cannot rate the wine as I am not a drinker, but others at the table seemed really pleased with what they ordered. Don't know what to order? Ask. The staff will help you make choices. We had prosciutto wrapped melon. The proscuitto was by far the best I ever had and the melon was perfectly ripe. The Maccheroni E Tartufo (or Mac and Cheese with truffle) was wonderful. Crusty cheesey and hot. Also had the asparagus ravioli. Excellent. The servings are small, but enough to fill you up without having to get a to-go box. We didn't stay for dessert, but I am guessing that is also excellent.

Had a delicious panini with a glass of wine recommended by our server. Portion sizes are perfect, not so overwhelmingly huge that you don't want to walk afterward. Great atmosphere too.

After a good food tour in SOHO/NOLITA, we were looking for a spot in the theater district to get a glass of wine and some small plates. Briciola fit the bill. It's brought to you by the Aria Wine Bar team in the West Village It's not big with 2 small rooms - a bar area and a room with one big table (14 seats). No reservations and you have to order food to sit down We had a group of five and found sitting Italian family style enjoyable. The wine selection was nice and included a rose Prosecco which is hard to find on menus. We ordered several small plates tapas style - oysters (which were huge), cheese, meats, Gorgonzola stuff dates wrapped in Speck (Yum!). The service was quick and friendly. Very enjoyable. A nice addition to the Hells Kitchen area.

A beautiful little wine bar / restaurant! I was in the City for a long weekend, visiting friends and they suggested this place... We did have to wait to sit since its one long bar height table in one room and a long bar in the other. However, so very worth the wait! The menu is simple, and crazy inexpensive for Manhattan.. Appetizers $9. and they're amazing choices.. The eggplant rollotini was like someone's grandma was in the kitchen..Paninis $10. ...pasta dishes $12. And some of the best gnocchi I've ever had! Philippe and Chad were so fast, so attentive and so nice it was a great night! And the wine list is amazing too!! We went back the next nite to have the things we didn't have the first nite!! Check it out!!
