Long before it was called the Mulberry St. Bar it was Mare Chiaro--so many movies, TV shows, magazine layouts. And operated by Tony "Cigars" Tenneriello (the son of the original owners). Those in the know will always call it Tony's Nut House...But the new bosses have made it hipper without sacrificing its old school charm and that is to be commended! From Sinatra to Madonna to Pacino--all have graced this hallowed cavern in Little Italy.
I'm told the food is good ("Great Pie") claimed a recent returnee. It's lively. It's historic. It's one of the last great vestiges of what's become, even a Littler Little Italy...

We stopped at this little cafe after a very long walk through financial district and Chinatown.
We checked the menu outside and the pricing of the food was good, and so was the huge pizza we saw outside on some other peoples table.

We sat inside and there were some loud guests at the bar, sounded like they were having some good fun.

The waitress was really nice to us and we both ordered a pizza.
The pizzas were both really good and tasty. All freshly prepared.

Loved the ambiance of the place, with the open kitchen and the bar combined it made the place feel like a little bar where you can get good food.

Would certainly recommend going here for the good and simple food!

We went to the Mulberry Street Bar after eating out in Little Italy. There is Karaoke in there and it is a great fun night. Service is very good, and the atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. There are heaps of locals in here enjoying the Karaoke and they are happy to have visitors join in and share the fun. A fantastic place to go for a fun night out.
