My family had a wonderful time in nyc last week, with Lisa’s beautiful flat (“residence two” in the subdivided brownstone) serving as our home away from home. Upon arrival, we visited the Amish Market two blocks away to stock the kitchen with coffee, cream, fruit, cheese, crackers, etc. - fodder for early morning and late night conversations in the comfortable living/dining room.
Our afternoons and evenings were spent at musicals (Lincoln Center and the Schoenfeld theater near Times Square), television studios (Ed Sullivan theater and NBC studios/Rockefeller Center, both nearby), museums (the Met), stores (Soho shops and Columbus Circle mall) and restaurants (many good ones in the neighborhood). The flat is perfectly situated to easily walk, taxi or subway to anywhere in Manhattan and beyond.
One item to note: there are two flights of stairs (three, if you count the stairs from the street) to conquer when staying in residence two (the top flat in the building). You will sleep well at night after a full day of walking and climbing stairs! If your exhaustion is not enough to keep you asleep, Lisa has kindly provided ear plugs and eye masks for any street noise and morning light :) :) :)
Thank you, Lisa, for our lovely stay!!
Amazing apartment to return home to at the end of a long day of sightseeing with the family. Great open space, plenty of room for everyone to relax together. Perfect location convenient to all subways, shops, theatres, etc. Would highly recommend!
Stayed in this beautiful apartment while spending some time in New York with friends. It was just as pictured and an absolutely perfect location. Quick walk to Times Square and close to many great restaurants. Would stay here again for sure! Owner easily accessible during our stay and quickly addressed any concerns.
Every contact with the owner was a pleasure. The reservation process, prompt follow up of e-mail, before and during our stay, check in and check out procedure, refund of security deposit.
The apartment is really spacious and with its 2 bathrooms ideal for our first family trip to New York . With 4 couples. Nice large table to enjoy breakfast, dinner, etc. And very comfortable couches to hang on after visiting the city.
For dinner (and breakfast) there is a lot of choice of good restaurants in the street or just around the corner and being close to Time Square a night stroll is awesome!
The only thing you should not expect is quietness. Ear plugs where found in every bedroom :-).
We were a group of 8, and the Upper Unit was just perfect for us. Everything was well organized and laid out, and many little details were thought of by the hosts, from having enough towel and coat hooks for a whole group, to the labeling of the kitchen cabinets with what goes in them. Plenty of seating in the living and dining room, less than a block to the closest subway, another block to the next closest, and easy walking to several destinations and restaurants, really easy to get anywhere. The only complaints anyone had were that the mattresses could have been a bit more comfortable, but they weren't a problem, and we had an amazing time.

Overall, this was an amazing place to stay. Super convenient location with tons of shops, markets and restaurants nearby. Don't miss the farmers market behind the unit - super inexpensive. Close to Times Square, Theatre District, Central Park. Great space for large groups. Everyone in our family had their own space. Clean, well equipped kitchen including dish soap and laundry soap. Updated bathrooms. A few more bath towels would have been nice, but with a washer on-site, I washed them myself. Some things to note: there are a lot of stairs to get to the upper unit. If you have anyone with difficulty going up stairs, this may not be the place for you. Also one of the bedrooms does not have air conditioning (has a fan). With the summer heat is not really a usable room as it was much too hot. If we ever visit NYC again, we would definitely stay in the unit again.
Very large and beautifully decorated property. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of space. Kitchen is well stocked and the living room is super comfortable! Excellent location for shows, sight seeing and restaurants.
However, would have expected to be able to leave luggage for a couple of hours on departure day, especially as there was a perfectly suitable locked porch on the property.
