We stayed 2 nights at this hotel recently and we loved it. As several people on here have posted already, it is steps away from the subway, Madison Square Garden, Penn Station and minutes from Times Square (15 walking minutes). Our room was small, but it's what we expected for NYC. We also flew out of Newark airport so we took the NJ Transit train from Penn Station to the airport. ($12.50 compared to $80 for taxi) We only had to haul our luggage two blocks to the station which was challenging but doable.

The hotel is also located on a quiet street facing the Post Office and the breakfast was more than we expected with eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels and several pastries. But the coolest part of this hotel is the rooftop bar and sitting area on the 23rd floor. What a view! It is worth it after a long day of sightseeing to go up there and just take in the view. I used the fitness center which was new and had quality cardio equipment with TV's on each piece of equipment. The staff was very helpful with our needs getting to/from area attractions and sites. They held our luggage until the room was ready when we arrived and allowed us a late check out. (These types of things are going to vault them into the top 20 of NYC hotels soon)

I am a hotel snob and this hotel met my needs. We paid over $300 per room but again, it is NYC and I'm not sure you can find everything this hotel offers for less than that. I would definitely recommend it.

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond what is expected. Roudy at breakfast says "Good Morning ", Luis and Allison at the front desk do an excellent job, with a friendly attitude which may be a little difficult to find these days, All employees were very nice. Bunny and Lee S.

Room Tip: South side has excellent view

With the subway to downtown right at the corner, and Penn St. at the next, this brand new hotel on W33rd Street is pretty conveniently located. They’re also doing pretty good for those on foot: Madison Square Garden is across the street, the Empire State at 10 minutes, Times Square and the High Line both at 15.
Check-in is smooth and friendly (the entire staff scores pretty high on the scale of friendliness by the way), rooms are small but decent (everything is new), bathrooms have a walk-in shower and wireless is free.
It’s a Fairfield Inn, so no further amenities here (which is ok, we are in Manhattan after all!), but to get the real Fairfield value for money however, here’s a tip: book well in advance. I paid $300 per night, and that’s A LOT of money for facing a blind wall (at 20 ft. - backside of the building), slow elevators (count an extra 5 minutes to commute to ground floor) and a VERY basic breakfast (self service with plastic plates & cutlery) in a room that's too small for the hordes of tourists that flock in & out.
What eventually made me decide to go for the 3 stars is the wonderful rooftop bar, 23rd floor, with view all the way down to the new WTC and beyond.

Room Tip: Backside for no view (at all), but relative peace. Higher floors street side for the views

A new place in town and it’s great. My son and I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn and were very happy with our room. I t is a short walk from Penn Station making easy access to JFK and most anywhere else in town. Many of the sites are within walking distance.
The rooms are very clean and the staff make you feel at home. There is a complementary breakfast served, that I am sure will please most everyone. There is no restaurant at the Fairfield but there are so many close at hand that it had no impact on our stay. There is a top floor deck that wasn’t yet open that will offer a great view of the city and a good place to relax. I felt that for New York the room rates were reasonable.
Give it a try you’ll be happy you did.

This hotel is newly renovated and ideally located for the business traveler (right off Lincoln tunnel - and next to Penn Station), but the key to my stay was the professional, courteous and competent staff. I checked-in to the hotel with Luis and checkedout with Michael and both times I was taken aback by how friendly they were and they both went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. I have stayed at a lot of hotels in NYC and this is the first time I have ever been motivated to comment on service - so well done guys!!!

This was a perfect place for me to stay. I drove in from Jersey and the hotel is very close to the Lincoln Tunnel. Parking is literally next door and though expensive, it is NYC. It was easy to get taxis just down at Penn Station.

It was clean, the rooms, for NYC were large, the bathroom was nicely appointed and overall it was well-designed.

I had a room that looked downtown and the new Trade Center buildings were lit up and it was pretty special. The best feature for me – a window that opened! Fresh air on a nice late spring night was great. The City noise is fun for me and I slept very well.

The staff was proud and excited to be working at a brand new hotel and it showed. They were very helpful and pleasant to be around.

The Internet worked, breakfast was good … overall a really nice experience.
