The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast space is a little bit cramp. The food is not bad and adequate. The surrounding of the hotel is not very pleasant. The room is clean but small.A little far from subway but centrally located in Manhattan.Easy walk to Time Square and Broadway.

this hotel was really good for us, 10 minutes from Times Square, not expensive for New York . It was very clean and the staff were very helpful, friendly and fun. The breakfast was good, there were 2 computors for free use as well as free wifi. rooms had all we needed including a fridge and coffee maker. I would stay again. Breakfast had, eggs, bacon or sausage, bread, muffins, bagels, cereal , bananas etc, lots of choice. Great food nearby as it is in Hells Kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Tea and coffee all day and night.

Room Tip: 8th floor

I just want to let trip advisor know that if visiting this location, please look for Richard at the front desk... My family and I were helped so much by him and his service was great, made a lasting impression on our stay overall!

As far as the hotel, it's new... So when it was explained to us My wife understood the construction, the elevator thing was horrible but they have great employees like Rich :)

The room was NYC size small but clean, service was great in the morning-Jasmine is very helpful as well.
We'll be back July 4th looking for Richard and Jasmine :)

Considering where this hotel is located (across the street from a Salvation Army rehab center) in Hells Kitchen, I was quite pleased. The staff was always available and on top of things if you had a request. There was never a difficulty finding a staff member. It's walkable to a lot of restaurants. The size of the room was just right and it was clean! My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower which is due to the low pressure showerhead. I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Try to get a room high up and in the back because there's construction on the street.

A gem of a hotel!

This hotel is located in the Hells Kitchen section of midtown Manhattan, near the Theater District. In June 2013, it was a completed building, occupying the space of a former very old apartment building, on a predominantly residential street. It is two blocks east of the Hudson River. (Remember Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger’s remarkable landing in the river?) Discovered it, quite by accident, in an online search. It is beautifully constructed to fit the existing décor of the area. I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express’s throughout our great country. This one is definitely the best! From the very first contact, the staff were unbelievably friendly, helpful and cordial. The rooms were designed by an architect who knew a lot about organization and valuable space saving. The room layout is small but very easy to live in. More than usual recepticles. Cleanliness of the room & common areas was impeccable. I was on the 10th floor of eleven, on the south side of the building, with a great view of the local city skyline. I have NEVER seen stairwells, all eleven floors, so clean! I am a frequent user of stairwells, especially at this hotel! Quiet stairwell exit doors. The prices of the rooms are reasonable for NYC, but expensive for me. I received a “senior” discount which reduced the price of the room substantially.

The negatives were livable: VERY slow elevators (2) & a breakfast not suitable for healthy eating, but passable. There are plenty of good places to eat within a four block radius of the hotel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel as a NYC place to stay. It’s location from the nearest subway station is four blocks to the blue line train at 50th street, but an easy walk. In my opinion, the best way to get around NYC is by subway. Depending on the length of stay, the best dollar deal is to purchase the 7 day unlimited Metro Pass for $30. A regular priced subway is $2.50 for EACH ride, no matter how long or short the ride. The Metro Pass allows unlimited rides during a seven day period, and the seven day period begins with your first ride.

No laundry facility onsite, but there is a “wash & fold” laundromat less than a block away. I did not use the exercise room, but it looked well equipped.

Thank you for your recent comments. In response to not having bell staff on property, the limited service model for the brand Holiday Inn Express does not require bell staff. At any given time though our team is always ready to assist should you need assistance with you bags. Your comment will be the topic of our next review meeting on services. Thank you again for taking the time out to review the hotel and services and we look forward to welcoming you back on a future stay.

My wife and stayed here on a 5 day vacation to NYC. The hotel is new so it is in very nice. The location is about 4 blocks from time square. The size of the room was adequate as well. The problem with most hotels is it's housekeeping and this hotel is no exception. Upon getting my room key, we discovered that the room had not been prepared. The bed was unmade and housekeeping was just like "ummmmmmm, I dunno" The lady at the desk was very apologetic and put us in another room. Everything was fine until the next day after we got in about 11:00 pm and discovered that housekeeping didn't replenish ANY towels. We had to call the front desk to get towels. This was a true inconvenience since we were dog tired when we made it back to the room. A maintenance man brought us about 20 towels, unfortunately they were all bath towels. I left the remaining pile of towels on the floor the next day hoping that housekeeping would give us the correct quantities of towels, both large and small. NOPE, the pile of towels were still on the floor and the trash can was not even emptied. Not only that our soap was never replaced by housekeeping. I had to go down stairs and get a bar. I understand that they were just opening up a few days before my arrival, but the housekeeping situation was just unacceptable. I hope they have gotten these issues resolved as this is a nice hidden gem. I would be willing to stay here again, but would quickly choose another hotel if the same housekeeping issues remain. To the hotel management, my service and cleanliness score is strictly based on the housekeeping and not on services provided by the front desk or maintenance staff.

Fabulas - Thank you very much for writing a review. I appreciate you noting that when you stayed, we just opened up. It was definitely a trying time but we have since battled from then and on track. When the hotel opened its doors it was almost full to capacity and to be quite honest there was no time to fully finish what we call our simulation of training. It is from the constructive criticism like yours that we can see what is working and what is not plus if we achieved or failed in any attempts.

Thank you again for your review and look forward to welcoming you back should your travels plans bring you back to NYC.
