I stayed at The Jade for three nights on a recent business trip. The location was great and it was easy to get around. The front desk staff was very efficient and friendly.

The rooms are done in an art deco style. They are done very well but are rather small. It was ok for one person, but had I been travelling with my husband, I am not sure how I would have liked the cramped quarters. The bathroom was done to a high standard. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was good.

I had a drink at the bar, but did not eat there. It was a nice place for a drink, the service was ok, it was moderately priced

The jade hotel is in a great location with friendly employees, however we were promised a suite and we were put in a closet for the same rate. The shower head was broken and the air conditioning was broken. Plaster from the bathroom ceiling was falling down and made a mess all over the room. We told the staff and they did nothing to fix the mess. They have two small elevators and are missing a service elevator, so I was running up and down the staircase to get from the lobby to my room. The gym is small and has nothing in it, a waste of time. This hotel is only worth the stay because of the location. Go to the Bowery, they know service!!!!!!

Room Tip: pick a better hotel

I've never felt compelled to write a review before but Bryan and the team at The Jade Hotel deserve ten minutes of my time. From the moment we arrived with heavy bags, they were helpful, polite, interested and fun. Within five minutes we were talking about their recommendations of things to do around the area and our bags were whisked up to our room by the lovely Bryant. Throughout our stay the team always had a smile for us and they really made us feel at home in New York. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Thanks Bryan and we hope to see you again soon.

Greenwich Village. A great place to be to start with. The Jade Hotel's vibe is just great and comforting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull and they make you feel casually comfortable from the moment you step to the front door. The room we stayed in (1507) has a view on the Empire State Building. We didn't suffer from noise from the outside at all eventhough we were on the frontside of the hotel (15th floor). The room is small for American standards, but it feels really cosy and comfortable. The bed sleeps awesome. The elevators (2) are slow, but we were not in a hurry so we dealt with it. There's metro stations nearby (walk to 6th and find a Path metro and a regular metro on the corners opposite to eachother to the north). We would for sure consider to stay at The Jade Hotel again.

The restaurant linked to The Jade Hotel is called Grape & Vine. The food is not that great. It's not bad, but it's not 'special'. We'd recommend to go outside and find cosy places to have breakfast/lunch/dinner in areas like SoHo or Lower East Side.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1507 on the 15th floor. It's a room on the front side of the hotel but we neve...

We stayed at the Jade Hotel the weekend of May 17 - 19, 2013. The Jade is located about 5 minute walk from Union Square so made most areas of the city accessible to us. I love the decor of the Jade. It has a hip, boutique feel to it. There is a bar/restaurant as part of the hotel which played great music, even though we didn't spend time there.

The service was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. One comment is that the check-in and concierge are the same desk which resulted in a few waits for service. But that wasn't a problem given how comfortable the lobby was.

As others have noted, the rooms are small (much like most other hotel rooms in NYC I've seen). The bedroom was designed very well. The bathroom had a very spacious shower and the bed was very comfortable. Free internet in the room.

One nit pick is that one can hear the doors of other rooms open and close.

But all in all, I'd definitely recommend this location to friends.

This is a cute a cute hotel, the location is extremely convenient and the staff helpful and kind.
Our bedroom was nice but too small. We were 2 adults and 1 child and we had to move one at a time. We stayed just one night, so non need to empty our suitcases, but it wouldn’t have been enough place to arrange our clothes. I found our double bed tight and shorter then normal.
The bathroom was ok, with a large and comfortable shower box.

We've checked into many hotels in the past, but can honestly say that the welcome and late check in we experienced at the lovely Jade hotel was the nicest in living memory. From the moment you enter this tastefully refurbished hotel in a perfect West Village spot, everything feels a little bit special - from the beautiful lobby through to the excellent Grape & Vine bar/restaurant. But the service is something else - incredibly helpful, genuine, friendly and fun: David Strickler, we salute you! ;) Some of the rooms are a little on the bijou side, but we were lucky enough to get transferred to a large double on the quiet back part of the hotel with big old bathroom - highly recommended. Back to Grape and Vine - again impeccable service, delicious breakfast and very good vibe for dinner or a late drink in the evenings. Any hoteliers out there who want to teach their staff how to make guests feel great, send them to spend some time with this team - we'll be back for sure!
