A very moving visit, knowing what once stood and all the lives that were lost. The reflecting pools are a wonderful memorial. You do need a ticket which is free, we got ours when we went into the small museum near the site. New construction is being built and expressive.

If in NYC this is a visit you have to make.

“Worth the Visit”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

As a once every other year visitor to NYC, we have watched the progress of the rebuilding of this Site. We were honored to be able to experience the lovely set up and the way our heros have been honored. It was a blistery day, but it was still hard to pull ourselves away the reflecting pools. I would love to visit when we can sit for long periods of time and reflect on all that is good in the world rather than simply the evil. I think that is what those honored here would want us to do. The gift shop at the end is way too small and was over crowded. I'd skip that stop as it somewhat detracts from the feelings of the Memorial.

“Inspiring”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We visited in feb 2013 and the work that has gone into this is incredible, the site itself really gets you thinking when you see all of the names of those innocent people who died and for me personally when you see a name"and her unborn child" it was extremely sad
This place is a must visit when in town,we didn't have any wait at all, security is very tight but you can understand that
Go see it and pay your respects

“well done.”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Buy your tickets in advance. The line moves quickly. Don't forget there is security like at the airport. The memorial itself is the perfect design and worth a moment to remember what happened.
