Saw other reviews and while a little wary, we wanted something other than fast food and a little calmer than some of the other rushed meals we have experienced in town. We got in rather late on a weeknight, but they treated us as welcomed guests, offered a great variety of menu options, and for the most part considering prices in the city, for the quality of the meal, it was reasonably priced.

Our group started with several options. The salad was a little "earthy" and lacked some flavor, but the Panko Mac & Cheese was excellent. Also, tried the dates with blue cheese from the small plates. A very different blend of favors that some liked at our table and some different. You had better like dates!

The entrees we tried were the pork chop with roasted peaches and spinach - excellent, scallops with sweet corn and truffle risotto - excellent, the hanger steak or steak frittes - very good, and their burger and fries - good.

Lesson learned, this is not a burger place. Try something the staff recommends and go for the "fancier" food because the attention they apply to it is evident.

Finally, I must comment on the service from the hostess who answered my call, to the wait staff, and ultimately management, they treated us very well! For a hotel restaurant, still worth a visit! Very unexpected.

Fine food, cosmopolitan atmosphere, great service, reasonably priced, we had an enjoyable meal here. We wanted to visit the Empire State Building in the evening and this restaurant was nearby. We were seated promptly in a lovely setting, mood lighting, nicely decorated, comfortable seating. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to go during restaurant week so were able to get a starter, entree and desert for $28.

We stayed at the hotel Strand and dined at the restaurant one evening. The service was good, not extraordinary, but still good. The food, I would say, would appeal very much to the majority of Americans, since the portions were huge.

For starter we had the tuna tartare, which was pretty bland and a corn soup (as their evening special), which in quite the opposite was very tasty. Both of the dishes were beautiful to look at. I had the entrecote, which unfortunately was burnt (I asked for medium rare) to the point that it was charred and the texture was extremely tough. The other main course, which was seared scallops with braised pork belly and sweet corn puree was well composed, especially with the saltiness from the pork, but a teeny bit too sweet. Also this dish was very big.

Had an early dinner here before the theater. The mussels entree was so pretty, it was nearly a work of art and absolutely fresh and delicious. The spring vegetable pasta was freshly made with spring peas and asparagus with a light sauce. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Dining room is very attractive with a large fish tank. An enjoyable experience.

We had dinner here with another couple on our way to a show - the wine menu was great and very reasonably priced, I had the lobster risotto (small portion) and asparagus - amazingly delicious. Excellent service, we will definitely be back!
