Owner description: The Mafia. The Mob. La Cosa Nostra. The Syndicate. The Commission. Gangs. Organized Crime is real. It had more influence in New York City than you can ever imagine. Whenever you think The Mob has been broken, it simply disappears, changes forms, and comes back bigger and more powerful than ever before. We take you to where it all happened; from the earliest gangs in American history to the birth, rise and fall of the American Mafia. We tell the stories of the Tongs of Chinatown, Irish Westies, Russian Mob, Jewish Syndicate and many, many more…We show you where they lived, where they ate, where they drank, where they got paid, where they whacked and got whacked. How do we get away with it? Don’t ask questions; just enjoy the tour. We’re gonna give you a tour that you cannot refuse.

“Very Knowledgable Guide”

This was a fantastic tour, even if it was freezing cold. We took a private tour. Our Tour Guide was incredibly knowledgable and seemed well researched.

First trip to NYC and as a history enthusiast (mafia/gangster related) the 2 hour NYC Gangster Tour was a perfect afternoon activity. Discovered NYC Gangster Tours via Google and referenced Trip Advisor. Vanessa, the concierge at our hotel (The Iroquois) called and booked our tour. She knew a colleague of our guide, small world NYC :-)
Our guide Gideon was extremely knowledgeable, charismatic and enthusiastic (and patient, we were running 5 minutes behind and he graciously waited for us).
The tour was very interesting and highly informative, I definitely recommend the Little Italy/Chinatown Tour.
We visited places I would never have known about and it was all tied together perfectly.
Next time we visit New York I will do the longer tour that they have, 'The Rise and Fall of the American Mafia'
Thank-you Gideon!

“Excellent tour”
Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

Took the gangster tour with Marcus last night. His level of knowledge about the subject was very impressive and he was also very entertaining. It was fascinating having seen so many gangster documentaries and movies to then go to the places where these historical events actually happened. Highly recommended.

“Interesting and fun”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

We did the Chinatown and Little Italy tour which lasted about two hours. It's a walking tour but the pace was very relxed.

Our guide Gideon was very friendly and knowledgable. Even for someone like me, who has read books about the mafia and watched numerous documentaries, his stories contained a lot of new information. My girlfriend, who's not particularly interewsted in organised crime, found the tour very interesting and fun as well.

Gideon has quite a knack for story telling: he mixes in anecdotes and jokes to make it more fun. He knows the history behind a lot of the places we visited during the tour. And to give us faces with the stories he showed us photographs of the gangsters he was talking about.

In conclusion: a fun tour for people who would like a little more meat on the bones when taking a tour. Well worth the money.

“Love, love, love these tours!”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

We have now taken 2 of these tours. The first was last September 2012-Chinatown/Little Italy right in the middle of San Gennaro fest, which was a bonus! This year 2013 September, we took the Rise and Fall tour and were again pleased. We are now "made" in the gangster tour world! One more to go! Gideon is very knowledgeable and tells little anecdotes which enhance the experience. We were a little late walking to the start site since we are not from NYC and got lost, but he waited for us before beginning the tour. We loved seeing where Lucky Luciano lived as a kid and all the other unique places you would never think were gangster hangouts.
Most likely next year we will take the 3rd tour and be considered consigliari! Great experience all around.
