Great hotel. Clean. Rooms on the larger size for NYC boutique hotels. Rooftop bar was an attraction to staying, but it was closed on 3 of the 4 nights of my stay for private functions (including over a weekend). This was not communicated well by hotel staff, who each day said it would be open the next night. The rooftop bar is lovely, if it's open to guests. Could be noisy on the lower floors if the music is pumping downstairs.

We stayed for 5 nights with our 2 teenagers and were all very impressed the minute we walked in the door. Greeted with friendly service and drinks (wine for the adults, water for the children), which was what we needed after hopping off a long flight from Australia.
Nothing was too hard for the staff. They were there if you needed them but not too overbearing.
The rooftop is an experience but even though we were hotel guests it was difficult to get up there due to private functions. We did manage to get up there on our final afternoon and loved every minute of it
We will definitely stay here on our next trip to New York

I found this hotel through Trip Advisor. I stayed in this hotel for the location, amenities and onsite dining.
This is a beautiful property, with a rooftop restaurant/bar, piano bar and fabulous restaurant called Parker and Quinn. The room was well appointed and updated. The room was clean and had all the guest room amenities that you need...including slippers offered at turndown. I can't say enough of the cleanliness of the property...which is really important in a NYC property and the fact that the room was very large!!
Our experience with the staff was excellent. I rarely get names of employees, but I was so amazed at the level of professionalism and courtesy offered during our visit that I wanted to mention them by name. The employees that get a big thank you are: Sherise, Rashid and Vanessa. All of the employees were some of the best I've encountered in a long time...coming from a hotel management background of 15 years...I'm not often so impressed. While in NYC, we had to make an emergency room visit. The staff were super quick to respond and help direct us to the closest/best option.
The rooftop view was incredible. The small plate menu was great and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid back evening. Pretty large indoor/outdoor space...perfect for a group yet very comfortable for a couple.
We will definitely stay here again and I honestly can't wait to return to those BEDS!!! Just one more reason I will stay here again in the future!

I was very pleased with the room and attentiveness of the staff. The rooftop bar is a great NYC experience, but the central location means getting to other places is easy. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others traveling to NYC.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Refinery. They've maintained aspects of the old millinery, which we loved. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful, the food was good, and the hotel decor is just perfect. The area is not the greatest, but there are subway stops within walking difference.
