“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

Made a reservation for my sister's birthday ahead of time since she loves Italian food. Turns out the owner is from the great city of Naples, Italy. Showed up around 5 and they sat us down immediately. Within minutes the waitress, the manager, and the owner/ chef introduced themselves to the table, which made us feel at home. The food was delicious, the bread is to die for and the mozzarella di bufala is the best I've had since Italy. I'm sure no matter what you order you'll be satisfied. Thank you for the great service!

“Back to basics”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2013

It was my 4th time in rafele's this week. I just love the idea that a good tomato sauce could fix almost everything. This restaurant uses the best tomato for his sauce and its so basic and simple. Eggplant with mozzarella and tomato to die for. Fried pizza a Neapolitan specialty (pizza Montanara) is incredible, bucatini a la matriccina a, aranccini, fried artichoke, meta bolls all perfect!!
The restaurant is not the sexiest place but the food is right on!! Bravo

“Very Fine Cooking, a Restaurant Wort Supporting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Rafele is owned by a formerly itinerant Italian chef named Rafele Ronac from near Naples. You can’t miss him, because his enthusiasm imbues the restaurant’s every fibre. He will cook for you, greet you, chat with you, make sure you get the right wines and generally be the most attentive host.

Normally, as an Englishman, this is where I start to complain about wanting a quiet meal and being left alone. But at Rafele what you get is not some tip seeking teenager reading from a script. You get the owner and his devoted staff checking if you are having a good time because they actually take pride in what they do.

This is not fine dining in the traditional sense, but it really is very fine cooking. The food has a depth of flavour that comes from using good ingredients and taking time to do things properly. Everything is prepared from first ingredients and everything is very, very good.

Rafele Ronca comes from near to the famous “Walk of the Gods” on the Amalfi coast. His cooking and obvious passion for his restaurant is equally worth the walk down 7th Avenue. We have eaten in dozens of Michelin Starred Restaurants and we really liked this place a lot. It is authentic and to cap it all, it cost less than we would have paid if asked to guess.

“An amazing experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Rafele Restorante was recommended to us and 7 friends visited and enjoyed the Chef's Table experience. Chef Rafele and staff made you feel immediately at home with their gracious welcome, open kitchen and authentic Italian cuisine. From apps, entrees, through desserts each dish exceeded our expectations. For an authentic Italian experience, visit Rafele Restorante....you won't be disappointed!!
